Acceptance Chances?

Aiight. I'll just go over my stuff. I applied early decision to Penn, but I may apply to Stanford.

ACT- E: 32
M: 36
R: 33
S: 27
C: 32
SAT I- 660 Reading 750 Math 710 Writing
SAT II- Haven't gotten the scores back

I have a 3.98 and took 4 AP classes my junior year and have 3 this year.

Class Treasurer Junior and Senior Year
President and Founder of Young Democrats (Junior and Senior Year)
Freshman/JV Baseball (2 years), Freshman Cross-Country, Freshman/JV Basketball (2 years)
Varsity Soccer Senior Year

And I coached 6th grade basketball and we got 2nd out of 26 teams in the City tournament

I think I've got at least a shot, right?

sure you've got a shot, but your ecs dont show a lot of commitment/involvement and your act is low for stanford... your gpa is pretty good, hopefully you have a very rigorous courseload and some exemplary essays and recs

were you head coach of that team? that could be a big deal, especially if you write well about it. Your scores are ok but could be a bit better. I'd say low chances though, do to the huge competition that I'm sure you are aware of. good luck :)

I agree with the above two posters, especially GimmeStanford.

Remember, though, that everyone has a "low chance". Applying in regular enrollment has ~8% acceptance. No matter how good your stuff is, you are never guaranteed. So just keep that in mind.

I agree that writing about your coaching experience would not only be ideal, but it would likely be relatively unique, given how many people your age have been the head coach of a team like that, let alone written about it. It would be a good opportunity to show your character, and perhaps.... dedication to sports or something.

I agree. I would talk about coaching. But your activities seem weak, unless they do show ultra-focus. That's the question you need to ask.

Yeah, I wrote the common app essay about coaching, and yeah, I was the head coach. I have other EC's like debate for 2 years, National Honors Society, National Junior Honors Society... I mean I filled up all the slots on the common app for ECs

if you write REALLY good essays
i think you can get in!
but right now you look kinda bland...
