So my friend’s uncle used to be the dean of admissions and the dean of the college of nursing at Clemson. I know the college of nursing here is really competitive and I was wondering if knowing someone like that could increase my chances of getting accepted. Right now, I haven’t gotten my SAT or ACT scores back, but I have about a 95% or 4.0 GPA and my class rank is 133/600.
No
Just knowing someone like that? It’s unlikely to help. What are you going to do, name-drop in one of your essays?
Now if you could convince him to write you a letter of recommendation, that could conceivably help.
If it was YOUR uncle, then maybe. Your friend’s uncle? Extremely extremely unlikely
