I have recently applied to Clemson Nursing and will be hearing back in February. I am very anxious waiting for the day to come for me to find out, but for the time being I would like to get people’s opinions on what my chances are of getting in. I am #54 out of #431 weighted and #59 out of #431 unweighted. My GPA is 3.53 unweighted and 4.2 weighted. I have a very strong course load, over 8 AP classes (including AP Biology) over the past 4 years including many honors classes. My best SAT score is 1190 (590 math and 600 reading) and best ACT is 24. I believe I have 3 very good recommendations. I have a very strong resume with over 150 hours of volunteering, over 1800 hours of work experience at a pharmacy, a 4 year starter on 2 varsity sports, captain junior and senior year, NHS Vice President, and 2 year class representative for the athletic council (which organizes school events such as breast cancer fundraisers and pep rallies). I am very involved with the school, I am a 4 year member of the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council in which raises awareness about bullying, dating violence as well as Friendly Faces which works with the special education students at my school, and Environmental Action Club which raises awareness about global warming. I was wondering what other people think my shot for getting in is??
Clemson basically only looks at rigor, test scores, and grades. Your weighted gpa is very strong, and your unweighted is pretty good, too. However, your act is rather low. I think you have a good chance, though. If you’re instate, your chances are even greater.
How about my SAT scores? I am pushing them more than my ACT. Staying rather hopeful because I read they have doubled their enrollment size for nursing
Your SAT score is equivalent to your ACT scores @futurenurse3
Any update? Were you able to get into the nursing program?
did you get in?
With your scores, it would be difficult to get in Clemson at all. The nursing program is even more selective. Good Luck!
