Acceptance Letter Came Opened?

My acceptance letter from Cornell came today, but it was opened! I'm worried that something was lost/stolen. There were three things in my letter: A checklist with steps about what to do, a personalized letter of admission, and an acceptance coupon. Is this everything?

Hi, check my message in the fin aid thread, I listed everything that came in that envelope

Where are you guys located? I’m in Georgia and I am curious as to how long it will take to receive the packet.

Hahaha thats weird mine came opened as well. I live in NY so Imagine i was one of the first to get it. Mine had the same stuff inside as u so either were both fine or both missing something.

Glad you posted this because my son’s letter came opened and I had to convince him I didn’t open it!

Mine came opened as well. This is very strange. Looks like I’m going to have to call the admissions office to ask about this on Monday.

Same here. Worrying, to say the least.

Mine actually looked like someone forgot to glue the envelope.

Mine came opened today too. Anyways I like things in hard copy, so it was nice seeing the acceptance letter :)

Mine too! That’s strange. It’s nice to hear that I wasn’t the only one though, and that nothing seems to be missing.
It’s exciting to get it!!!

My “GT option” envelope came opened too! I believe it was never sealed.

I don’t think they actually seal it…

Mine too, but it looked like someone stabbed it. haha

Ditto, and mine was ripped on the side…

Our son’s letter arrived opened too!

same. thought the mailman did it. haha

mine was open too!
but it was never closed, by the looks of it; the glue was perfectly intact.

I didn’t apply ED, but oh my gosh, that sounds scary-esp. the person who said their letter looked like it was “stabbed” hahaha oh dear. Cornell’s going to get a thousand calls tomorrow.

@fishy, yeah mine looks like it was never closed. when i read the thread title, i was thinking someone forced it open, not that cornell never bothered to lick them shut lol…

that must be a nice job, to lick envelopes =D

^Sounds more like a dangerous job to me…Tongue paper cuts, no thanks! :p

there are machines that “lick” envelopes - apparently either there was no water in the machine or the “lick” switch was off …

anyway - your mailman is probably too busy deliverying holdiay greeting cards to peek at your decision - so I think you are all fine as far as privacy concerns go.
