Acceptance Letters

My last name is D and i'm in houston. Nothing from the mailman today. I wonder if Josh was an athlete; did he do the other kind of app and get a decision quickly? I haven't heard of anyone else getting an answer.

Was Josh the one that had a connection to the admission committee?

Yeah, I think his uncle works as an admission counselor or something. Maybe that is why he got his letter first.

That's what I was thinking.

Yeah, that could be true. He also might not have recieved a letter saying as he claimed to know his status a while back (before the letters were sent).

Newsflash from the admissions department. The letters will be put in the mail on Thursday, AND the decisions will be available online same day (no time given) on the status page. At least we don't have to be waiting at the box for a few more days. Good Luck to you all.

you must be kidding me > <
hahaha. all this freaking out about the mail for nothing.

well, thank you. this is going to save me a lot of stress, at least until thursday..

That is bs. The past years the letters were sent out before the 15th.

Oh, and btw, where did you find out that info?

i got a letter from rice in the mail today

er i havent read it yet cause my mom took it away.. didnt want to stress my little sister out on her piano exam.

erk but it was thin.. not fat like acceptance letters are supposed to be (right?) sigh i guess i know what that means. well i'll find out in an hour or so.

NYCmom - I was told that the acceptance letters were ready to go out last Friday or before. Deferrals and denials go out a bit later - maybe yesterday or today.

denied > <
sigh.
ugh not a good feeling.. esp from my dream school since i was 8 or 9..

I got in!!!

nicccee!!!
did you hear from the mail? or online?

mail. I live in the Houston area. If it matters, it was first-class, not priority, which could be because I live in so close to Rice it wouldn't make a difference. But if I had noticed that before I opened it, I would have thought it was a a big fat rejection for sure.

anoniez, so sorry for you. You will get in somewhere as good or better, I'm sure.

omg... I GOT IN!
can't believe it. ran all the way home from the mailbox screaming "Thank you, God!" glad none of my neighbors were outside hehe

anoniez: best of luck with all your other schools! don't worry. a better opportunity is out there waiting for you.

gosh..if you guys are in houston and just found out...how long will the letter take to reach NJ? :(

Well it seems like most people are saying that it will go online this thursday. Not that much longer to wait........... yet it feels like forever.

Congrats to the ones that got in. I can't wait to get my letter. I am tired of the wait.

Eh, when are your letters postmarked?
