The thread is called “good news”. Basically they finished reviewing apps and started sending them out two days early that’s all

thanks so much, speedsolver! :)

Haha no problem, you guys. I’m glad I could be of help.

Also, in case anyone is wondering, I live in Washington.

Hey does the acceptance letter come with your financial aid statement or does that come later?

Got mine today as well! I swear, I was more excited for this than I was for Yale’s!

To answer the above question, no, it doesn’t. The acceptance letter comes in a ruddy gold, normal sized envelope, which is gut wrenching till you actually open it!
General contents, summarized:
Dear ____( insert your name here, hopefully)

Congratulations! With great pleasure I offer you admission to the University of Washington 2016. I am confident that you will benefit […] and contribute to[…] this
remarkable university.
[Another laudatory paragraph]
We look forward to welcoming you to our Seattle campus beginning autumn quarter 2012. Under a separate cover you will receive a Welcome packet, which contains information on final transcript requirements, advising and orientation programs, placement testing, and other topics. Most important, the packet provides instructions for reserving you place at the UW by submitting the New Student Enrollment and Orientation fee by May 1st, 2012.
[…]
With hearty congratulations and warmest regards.

The director of admissions

I think FinAid and Honors info must be included with the other stuff soon to come.

Does anyone know if they send all Acceptance Letters first and then Waitlist and then Rejection? Or is it all mixed together?

Accepted!! I’m in state for reference.

Celelel: Acceptances and rejections are mixed. I haven’t heard of any waitlists so far.

Congratulations everyone! You did it!

Ugh, 2.5 hours from Seattle and still nothing for me.

^Looks like we’re in this together.

Congratz to those who got accepted to UW!!!

Delete the space before the asterisk to make it work!

@Celelel: Well then, may good luck come soon to us both in the form of a big envelope!

Does anybody know if international students got acceptance letters as well? I live in Tacoma, WA and I go to a boarding school. I know that the mail is supposed to be delivered to our school but just don’t know when! Oh, for those who already got accepted, by any chance has UW unofficial transcript been loaded yet?
Thanks!

^International students do get letters, but it takes 7-10 days. You will get an email before the mail gets to you. ONLY intl students get emails though.

My unofficial transcript hasn’t loaded yet. Got my letter today.

For those of you who got accepted:
When you say “big envelope”, do you mean that literally or does the small envelope have the words ‘Big Envelope’ written on it? I’ve watched some Youtube videos of Udub acceptance letters and the envelopes were small. I just want to know what to expect in the mail.
Oh, is it a rumor that it’s a colored envelope if it’s an acceptance, but a plain white envelope if it’s a rejection? Any clarification would definitely help me while I sit here impatiently and daydream of what my envelope will look like…yes, I’m that anxious.

It’s a small envelope, but it’s gold. It has in purple letters “the BIG envelope” literally written on it.
One single piece of paper inside.

As of 10:50 AM today, the acceptance letter is in a deceptively normal sized ( like taxes or letters from Grandma) sized envelope. My heart nearly dropped through my stomach when I saw that in the mail box! However, it is a rather pretty russet gold color ( I don’t know about rejections) and does indeed have the words " the big envelope" emblazoned across the front. Most importantly, it does contain the highly coveted and relief bearing letter of sweet acceptance.
Should you wish to know the contents, too, I think I posted that on page 5 of this thread.

Classmates of mine got accepted today… Safe to say that I probably didn’t get in since I live pretty close to them?
