Acceptance numbers for Harvard's pre-meds

Does anyone have any information (percentages, number applied, number accepted, etc.) concerning the acceptance rates for Harvard students who apply to medical school? I've heard it's around 90%, but so far I can't find any literature to confirm or disprove this. Moreover, what percentage of Harvard undergraduates are accepted to Harvard medical school? Thanks for any help!

same type of question but I wanted to know where can I find
the data of colleges the sent their undergrads to HMS

This doesn't really answer your question. On a WashU pamphlet I have, it says that 90% of its pre-meds with a GPA above 3.5 are accepted into med school and 50% afrom 3.0-3.5 (or something like that) are accepted. I imagine Harvard's numbers would be around the same or slightly higher.

The problem is that Harvard refuses to publish that information online. The data is only available in hardcopy at the houses. I'm not in town right now, or else I'd go over there and tell you what you want to know. {If anybody is in town, maybe they could go over and look?}

But basically, the Harvard premed data is roughly the same as the Princeton data, which is online. So about 90% of Harvard premeds who apply to med-school get admitted. Note, it's not like the WU data, where 90% of those with 3.5+ who apply get in. Rather it's 90% of ALL Harvard premeds who apply that get in.

Sakky,

I've heard that some schools prevent their "less-qualified" students from applying to medical school by refusing to give them a certification of good standing (or something like that). Does Harvard practice this policy?

I have never heard of Harvard ever doing this.

However, if you want a more definitive answer, you can throw it out there in the Harvard section of CC. Either that, or you can email the Harvard premed committee directly. However, I would be extremely surprised if the answer came back as 'yes'. If this happened, I think I would have heard about it by now.
