And RD admit rate was apparently 6%, lower than last year’s 7.5%.
WELCOME NEW QUAKERS!!
The yield for RD is pretty low. Assuming all ED (1332) will enroll, They accepted 2329 for the 1113 seats.
If 1300 ED enroll, it will be 2361 for the 1145 seats.
@f200sa an RD yield rate of about 48% is about the same as the last few years. This is how it has always been. Penn has never had an RD yield rate well above 50% bit it does have the highest RD yield (and overall yield for that matter) out of all the elite ED schools (i.e non-HYP ivies, Duke, Chicago)
Here’s another article about this on the philly.com web site, which confirms the 6% RD acceptance rate:

What is Penn doing to drum up so many more applications? Increased outreach to internationals?
1268 admitted from PA, NY, NJ, or 1/3rd.
Yes, 1/3rd, likely because those three states make up about 15% of the US population but possess a disproportionately larger percentage of the most qualified high school applicants as a result of the superior quality of the public schools and the overabundance of elite private schools that are spread across the three states. Similarly, 33% of Stanford’s incoming class comes from California. Likely because it makes up about 12% of the country’s population but it possesses a disproportionately larger percentage of the most qualified high school applicants as a result of the their strong public schools and the many great, elite private schools.

@NerdyChica nothing more special than what all the other elite schools do. continue outreach efforts and keep building on its already popular brand and ivy league status to attract more applicants. continue fundraising efforts in order to be able to attract the best professors, have top notch research facilities etc. especially for international people being part of ivy league is a huge draw. the ivies along with Stanford,MIT are the most popular schools internationally.
