Any word on the 2017 acceptance rate overall from the admissions office?

I’ve heard that several people received an email saying that the acceptance rate shot down to about 39% this year! But I never got this email, so I don’t know firsthand… I hope this is true though!

As a current Case student, we’ve been hearing that there were over 18,000 applicants for 1250 spots. As for the actual number of acceptances by Case and the rate I don’t know, but someone better at math than me might be able to make an idea out of that!

According to the New York Times (here: <a href=“Application Tally 2013 - Graphic - NYTimes.com”>Application Tally 2013 - Graphic - NYTimes.com), Case received 18,226 applications. Up from 14,571 (+25.08%).

If they accepted the same number of people, we can calculate acceptance rate.
Last year, it was ~50%. That’s about 7,286 people. 7286/18226 = 39.97%

Again, that’s assuming they accepted the same number of people.
