I'm confused. Some people say UM accepted 37% this last application period, while others say it was close to 50%, a huge difference. Which is correct?

i'd say its in the middle, around forty something.

I hear that they are over enrolled...that's going to affect transfer rates isn't it?

I don't know about transfer rates, it'd just better not affect admissions next year! I'm gonna be so mad if they drastically reduce their acceptance rate to accommodate this year's class lol. NOOOOO!!!

I hear the yield this year was huge.

They're building north quad to accomodate for more students though, so I don't think they'll drastically change the amount of students they admit next year

Yeah , around 6400 sent enrollment deposits. Lets see how many do eventually enroll.

Heres the link to that entire story.

It's my understanding that with the completion of North Quad there will have a negligible amount of places for students, because they're also reducing capacity at Mosher Jordan and Stockwell to make the existing rooms nicer (and thus, bigger). North Quad is also aimed towards returning students, not freshmen.

I agree with Matthew. North Quad will not be done until 2011, and even after it is done, there is a planned rotation to take dorms out of service for remodeling. So there will not be an increase in overall dorm capacity in the foreseeable future.

If you use the numbers in the article, 27400 apps, 6389 deposits, 46.4% yield, you come to 50.25% acceptance rate.

anyone know the out-of state stats by any chance?
