The statistic on college board's website says the acceptance rate is 47%. I'm guessing that includes in-state and out-of-state. Anyone have an idea what the rate is for just out-of-state students?

Though it is not explicitly stated by the university, it'd come to something roughly like 58% acceptance rate for in-state and 42% acceptancce rate for out-of-state.

I heard last week from an admissions counselor at UM that Michigan is not as hard to get into from OOS (compared with in-state) as people think. Keep in mind that the 30ish% from OOS is the actual class, not the percent that were admitted. For example, students from CA are likely to choose UCB and UCLA over UM, so even though they admitted more, less will attend.

In the above thread, I calculated that more OOS students are accepted than in-staters (roughly 7300 to 4900, respectively) but in-staters have a yield rate about three times higher, which is why they make up two-thirds off the class.
