Can any penn applicants from last year describe what an acceptance or rejection letter looks like/says? Also what does the decision online look like is it a letter or is it just accepted/rejected/defered?

If accepted, balloons fly out of the envelope.
If deferred, a big hand comes out, pats you on the back and says, "There, there...there's still some hope"
If rejected, a big boxer's gloves pops out and hits you in the nose.

hahha, someone actually posted the letters some time last year, but it may not be here anymore....guess we'll have to wait

I read that the first word of the online acceptance last years was "Congratulations . . ." So, ppl were saying they would mentally prepare themselves by knowing that or whatever.

NOTHING can prepare you.....telling you the words, showing you, it isn't YOURS. I know how nervous and impatient you all are but it won't count until it is yours.....you know w/ the entire family looking over your shoulder pretending that you are click, click, clicking!!!

I'm expecting a punch in the face from mine.

It isn't that dramatic.....it is a GUTreaction not one of pain from a sucker punch. One thing is certain you feel like the entire free world is watching.......very awkward.

my tactic: don't get my hopes up, so that way when i get the rejection letter, i'll be disappointed, but i'll be like "yea, i saw that coming." on the off chance that i were accepted/deffered, i'll be like "omg, well that's a ****ing miracle!! ^_^

Reading an acceptance letter is one of the best feelings
