does anyone know what exactly it will say on the site ?? for accept, defer, and reject… preferably someone who’s got a letter in the previous years??

For "Accept," its usually something like "Contratulations... blah blah." The exact letter depends on the school/division you applied to.

For the other two, the words defer and reject (obviously) do not appear. Probably like "The comittee has decided to postpone." and "We regret we are unable to offer you a place...applications this year has been the most competitive.." you get the flow. Don't worry the type of decision will be clear.

How much would it suck to be "accepted" according to the online decision only to receive a hardcopy of the letter and find out it was actually a "rejection".

I have a feeling if I were blessed with an acceptance to Penn, it would only be a mistake..

Such mistakes are generally honored as an acceptance..........so that isn't so bad is it?

Except you'd feel terrible for being at Penn when you think you really should have been rejected, lol

I disagree........I think lots of kids would be very happy to get in by any means.

haha yea. i would be fine with that.

Personally, I'd feel bad about it. I want to feel like I deserve to go to the school I attend.. if I were willing to get in by any means, what would stop me from lying in my essays?

"Such mistakes are generally honored as an acceptance"

No...a few years ago, Cornell accidentally emailed 500 more ED acceptances than it should have. They quickly sent another email to those kids informing them that they were not in fact accepted.
