acceptance rescind?

harvard wants final report.. i'm getting like all B's :( low B's too, drop from straight A's.... how big of a change will cause my admissions to be rescinded? i'm a bit worried........

you're dead meat, dude. I'll make it a priority to attend your funeral.

Kidding - I have a strong feeling that they won't care too much. Just don't get C's.

****. ok... man.. i'm getting like all low B's... i think i have 0 A for term 2.

that's rough. tell your teachers that if they give you C's, you might get rejected by Harvard. None of them would want to be the one to destroy your life. ;)

grrr... i thought 250 made you a member, how many posts make you a member?

300 posts...1000 for senior member

C's... are not that hard to get in Canada.. :(

Well duh, just don't anything in class. You're bound to get a C. It's not hard to get a C in the US either. It's a lot harder to get an A.

:P

oh and thanks haosquared...fifty more posts? COME ONNNNN.

Be careful, there is the occassional sadist among senior year teachers...dealing with one at the moment. A real BOL. (Bitter old loser).

Most teachers will expect you to do the work. They are unlikely to give you grades that you didn't earn. Having achieved a huge goal like admission to a top college, it would be foolish to throw it away by slacking off at the end. I suggest you talk to your teachers and get extra help, maybe even tutoring, to pull those grades up. See if any of them will allow you to complete some extra-credit assignments to make up for the points you have already blown.

hmmm.. alright... what would you guys say would be a very safe GPA or grade distribution for me so that i can be confident that my acceptance will not be rescinded... in Canada, we have the % beside our letter grade as well.. a B is from 73 - 85, and A - 86 - 100.. i can ask my counselor to NOT put the % on but ONLY the letter grade if the % is a low B...

out of 9 courses, 6 APs, i will try to get no C's as a final mark, but how many A's and B's do you think i'll need for my FINAL grade, so that i will be safe?

(i did well in term 1, high A's) so i just have to make sure my term 2 is around a high B...

I have a question along the same lines...I cut a class (once) and got Saturday School for it. My school admins don't seem to think it's that big a deal, but I'm still a little worried, just 'cause I'm SO SHOCKED I got in!! So anyway, d'you guys think Harvard would care?

as long as you don't get too many Cs, you'll be fine. having straight Bs won't matter at all.

ok. phew... man that would TOTALLY suck if i pick harvard over penn's dual degree with wharton and seas, then to find i can't go to harvard... :(

YOU GOT INTO FISHER!?!?! you beast you. congrats. i wanted that, didnt get in.

and stop being so asian. theyre not gonna rescind you unless you have C's, and one cut isnt gonna do anything. just dont lose credit. (I'm 2.66 absences away from losing credit in my bio class, so i gotta be careful if i wanna go to pton)

Haha! Too bad I'm not asian, but all my childhood friends were...maybe it wore off on me? :)

The opinion of a random internet stranger DOES make me feel better, though. I'm just still amazed, and looking for a reason that it's not REALLY true.

Haha thanks. Oh yeah and also I can offer you a specific example. We had someone accepted to Harvard two years ago. After he got in, he did some major cutting. Not like one or two classes, but many classes. He didn't get into any trouble that I've heard of.

which one would you pick anonymous5, fisher or h? darn fisher is so attractive ....

Look up where Fisher alumni have gone with their degrees. I don't think they're as impressive as Harvard's in terms of job positions, so I'd pick Harvard. They do make alot of money in i-banking I think, but they don't have high level management positions. However, if you have an interest in engineering, pick Fisher, because Harvard engineering sucks. I guess Fisher for money, Harvard for power.
