Accepted. Great news. But wait, dammit...what is this? I actually have to try this semester?

I currently have a B-average for this semester--down from my perfect 4.0 for the last 7 semesters. I'm just trying to enjoy my last semester of senior year. Do you think Harvard minds? I might even get a C in my AP Physics class, is this a problem?

I'm just asking how low I can go before they kick me out.

yes it might be a problem! do you really want to take the chance of having your acceptance rescinded?
get your butt in gear and get your grades up. you can relax once you graduate.
[ and congratulations on getting in in the first place- don’t blow it now]

i think a c is pushing it. B- is okay. But, worse comes to worst, you write a letter explaining your poor grades. But come one, you can’t keep a B- with minimized effort?

I’m a Harvard alum. If you are good at Google, you can find on the web a discussion where the Dean of the College was asked about “rescinded” offers. The dean said that it was possible but had not happened in recent years. Decisions are rescinded but in those rare instances it is a case where fraud has been detected. That said, if you presented last semester grades that were all “Cs” and “Ds” you might get a rude call asking you what was up but that would probably be it.

If I’ve had C’s all year in Physics and still got in (the C showed up on my MYR) it’s okay for me to not kill myself to try to get a B, right? I figured it wouldn’t be a problem since I was accepted with it, but now you guys are scaring me.
