My best friend since first grade was accepted 1/26 after applying at the beginning of January. I'm almost as excited that she got in as I was when I first got my own letter!
Her stats as I know them--
ACT: 31
UM GPA: 4.0
In-state
an insane number of impressive ECs with leadership positions (she even founded a chapter of JSA and a newspaper club at our school)

Now we just have to decide if it's wise to room together ;)

Wait, are you saying they only make decisions on Fridays? Because that would save me a lot of time checking Wolverine Access the other 6 days of the week. I'm thinking my decision will take 14 weeks (it's been 8 so far...). Just remember for everyone who didn't get a decision yet: It's better to get nothing than to get a deferral/rejection.

i had a topic earlier bout when decisions came out, someone said that htey usually come out friday morning at midnight.... and its pretty much proven cuz everyone alwasy lists acceptances here on friday, and yea the not rejecting anyone thing is bothering me too

Yeah. I'm thinking most deferrals are rejections because most won't get off the list. Sooo I'm scared that I'll get deferred and then never accepted.

BTW...would u mind mentioning your friend's stats- the one who got deferred?

per the complaint about rejections- I'm sure they are rejecting people, but it is unlikely that those people would talk about it... Also CC'ers undoubtedly represent a more dedicated and more qualified sector of nations college applicants so this is really a hard website to judge off of.

And as sad as it is, A LOT of people who got deferred last year were rejected in the end. I know the waiting sucks, but the school really does want to make sure they evaluate everyone completely and fairly...

Okay, I don't know where you guys get your information that decisions come out on Friday mid-night, cause I've seen them come out on everyday of the week, ranging from times from 12 PM to 12 AM...

And deferral doesn't equal rejection. The "myth" is that 50% of deferred applicants get in. Though it's probably not that high, it's still probably above 25% (guessing here...). And as further proof, I myself was deferred mid-Nov (app complete late Sept), then accepted mid-December
