Hey,
this is LBW 05's thread...I have no idea if there is even an 06 online group yet....probably so, but none of us 05ers would know that info....

wow i havent been on cc since jan or something...it was weird getting an email saying someone replied to the LBW thread!...anyways, have fun this summer! good luck w/ ur business plan 2 !

Last time you all went - did you meet any UK students?

are you a UK student?

ElWilson:
nope- there was an australian and a few europeans i think...no brits tho...although I'm sure there have been some in past years...isn't there an online group for LBW '06 or something where u can meet evry1?

What are the usual application procedures?

Also, how does the Wharton LBW compare with the Harvard Economics Summer School?

LBW applications were due on April 1st, and most of the 60 accepted students have been notified already

how does the Wharton LBW compare with the Harvard Economics Summer School?

Well, good question...personally, I don't really know because I only went to LBW...most people probably went to one or the other...but anyway, I can tell you a little about LBW from what i remember (although you can also find info online):
-there are 6 groups of 10 and each group competes in a business plan competition
-you go to NYC twice I think
-you visit different firms to hear from CEOs/ other important people
-you do excursions on the weekends
-you eat 1920 commons food (blech! but the lady who swipes ur card is nice- "how u doin' baby?" every morning lol)
-you stay in the Quad
-you can play tennis or golf on sundays
-you take classes at Huntsman (some more interesting than others)
-you give a couple presentations
-you do one of those team-bonding things one day (i hate those- they're like "who is the leader amongst you?" or "what did you enjoy about working as a group?" "what did you learn about urselves?"etc...)
- you go to some nice restaurants
-some of the ppl are really really smart
that's all i can remember...

oh and DeusEx, be nice to ElWilson! he might just be an innocent precocious sophomore yearning to know the subtleties of the LBW app....(?)

aw no I didn't mean to sound mean... I thought ElWilson already got into LBW? I invited him/her into the forum for kids who've already been accepted!

and thanksss americangrl, your post made me excited all over again for this summer =)

"I thought ElWilson already got into LBW? I invited him/her into the forum for kids who've already been accepted!"

lol- speak up ElWilson! If he really is a sophomore then you will have to report to some1 that the forum has been infiltrated by a foreigner!

oh and ur welcome! pm/email me if u have any questions! (email is probably better- i recently realized that i had left my email on this thread earlier and i can't edit it off now...oh well...) enjoy yourself tho!

LBW 06

Ive already been accepted but didn't get the online group thing. Can someone please invite me to the online group? thanks a lot!

hey tc I made the same mistake myself a while ago... this is the forum for lbw 05, not 06. we're actually in the forum 'leaders in the business world'
