Acceptances and Rescissions

I've got a question in my head for a few weeks now, and it concerns what happens what happens if your college choice that you choose to go to ends up rescinding your acceptance.

Does that mean you can't go to college at all that year if you've already told other colleges that you're not going to their school? Also, if you haven't already told them by May 1, would your spot even be there anymore?

Thanks.

bump

I would like to know too.

hmm.. same here

same here... but lets try and not get rescinded, k?

Does anyone know?

yeah I'm curious too. if ur top school rescinds ur admission, can u go to like a weaker school that might not even if u get a D or something?

Are we screwed if we get our acceptances rescinded? Would that mean we can't go to college this year?

what i understand usually happens, is the school makes you take a summer course, and won't admit you until the results of that.

I've heard of a girl who had her admission rescinded from Duke, and she had to reapply the next year (she got in)

So she took a year off because of it? That's what it sounds like.

I remember hearing on CC that someone who got into USC had to take a summer course. I wonder how that works if you're international like me (I'm a US citizen, but that doesn't mean I could travel to the US just for some silly summer course).

The whole rescission idea sounds silly to me, and I think it's just to reduce senioritis, but I dunno...

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY BEEN RESCINDED TO THE EXTENT THEY DONT GO TO COLLEGE FOR A YEAR? (rather than just the "slap on the wrist" summer course)

(sry for caps)
