Benley, Exeter has stopped serving hot breakfast as a cost-saving measure, I would not be surprised if they not using FedEx.

Seriously?? No hot breakfast?

From past experience, some schools without online notifications would send their decisions in regular mail a few days before March 10 so they can reach the accepted students by March 10.

No hot breakfast - isn’t that what Harvard is doing?

No hot breakfast, that was what our guide said while we visiting the dinning hall. But I am not sure how many student cafes there, whether it only stopped at THAT cafe.

Exeter has 2 dining halls - only one serves hot breakfast. The other serves a continental breakfast. So hot breakfast is definitely available but not at both locations.

Crative, it is good to know. Which dining hall is the main/bigger one? The one that serves hot breakfast? We only saw one during the tour, not so impressive to me actually, but my son couldn’t care less.

no hot breakfast? sorry, but thats just lame. i’ll ask the golden child about this via fb…

Two years ago, Andover sent acceptances by Fed Ex, and I believe they sent waitlist and no by regular mail. March 10 was a Mon, and the FedExes, which were I think flat boxes, reached people on Tues. (Usually they send them to arrive on the 10th, but maybe they weren’t ready to send them out on 7th!). So, if you didn’t get in you didn’t find out for a day or two or three after the 10th (longer the farther away you live). International decisions were available online, I believe.

Here is what I just got from Exeter, other than informing the completion of application, it said:

“Members of the Ten Schools Admission Organization will send official
notification of decision results on March 10, 2010. By agreement, the
ten schools will not fax or give decisions on the telephone at that
time. However, if you have not received your admission decision
letter by March 15, you are invited to call, fax or email to learn
our decision.”

It looks like for the 10 schools, waiting for the envelops is the only thing you can do on March 10.

It says no decisions communicated by fax or telephone, but online notification is not excluded. Based on past experience, several schools do have that available on March 10.

what about the lawrenceville school

The Lawrenceville School is part of the Ten Schools Admissions Organization (TSAO).

Fay mom where did you get this information because i agree with creative1 and my tour guide said the opposite. You can also check under “dining services” on their website, because I know for a fact that they serve made to order omlettes.

i asked about the acceptance letters for lawrenceville

All of my acceptance letters came in BIG envelopes, but the waitlists from two of my schools came in these tiny little envelopes that let me know immediately that I wasn’t in. I was surprised by one of the waitlist decisions too, but I supposed that if I continued expressing interest in that school, they would let me in…

yes! i love the confetti in the salem academy acceptance letter : D makes for a very exciting moment(:

Depends…both acceptance letters and rejections letters can be in a small envelope and have only one sheet of paper. Basically you won’t know until you open it!
