Acceptances?

just got mine today, too.
northern virginia.
it seemed pretty thin (only a folder with 3 sheets of paper), but it was a larger envelope. if that helps.

I was under the impression that a CD of the College and a course manual were included. Is that not right?

Nothing today but then we are 3000 miles away.

Oh btw, those of you who have your acceptances, what was the postmark date?

The envelope was about 8 1/2 by 11 size (maybe a little larger). It contained a Wellesley folder with the acceptance letter, the academic calendar for next year, and some financial aid documents. There also was a class of 2010 magnet.

i live in northern virginia - where's my ENVELOPE?! ah... i hope i got in. i'm so nervous.

hey guys, i just got my letter, and i got deferred. i feel so bad. i really wanted to go. wellesley has been my dream school forever, but I guess i wasn't good enough in some way. is there anything else i can do? i'm so desperate.

they told us that the avg percentage of ppl who are admitted in the spring from the ed candidates is about 24%. that isn't very much, is it? any suggestions?

continue doing well! :] and don't worry, not matter - you'll get into somewhere amazing.

how were your stats though? perhaps maybe improve on SAT?

i wish i got my letter, this suspense is killing me.

24% acceptance rate for people who are deferred is actually quite high compared to some other schools.

I just got accepted today! 2010! SOOO HAPPY

gcheng-nooooo! do really well for midyear and make them reconsider...

Congrats ChaiTea! And btw chai tea is probably one of my favorite things ever, it's just so delicious.

my life long dream... has come to an end. i got rejected and they told me that they're not accepting me for regular decision. how can i make them reconsider me? sigh. i just want to die.

Don't feel bad caramel, you'll get in somewhere great. And if you don't like it there, you can always transfer to Wellesley later. With these really first tier schools it often just seems like luck of the draw. Good luck with the rest of your applications, and try not to let this get you down.

Esperanto-I went up against an affirmative case in policy debate that advocated that esperanto should be implemented by the UN as a peacekeeping mission.

caramelover- not the end of the world. I think we were all braced for rejection. Maybe you should call and ask why?

Caramelover, my heart goes out to you. My suggestion, to support ChaiTea, is to phone the college and politiely ask exactly what areas you need to improve upon. Be very polite but very insistent. Explain why you need to know and that they would be helping you immensely. That knowledge will make you infinitely wiser for the next go-around. Also, if Wellesley is your goal, then make the application again with the corrected faults and let them know that you WANT to be there. Immediately after that, go for other good schools and forget about Wellesley. Good luck.

If my D does not make it, it will be because the SAT I was a bit too low plus a course load that was not aggressive enough. We already have an exit strategy even though she has her heart set on Wellesley. We still have not heard. Good luck.

nothing in the mail - AGAIN! ahh. this is absolutely driving me crazy.

would it be bad if i phoned?

It probably wouldn't be -bad- to phone (they've already made their decision, one way or the other), but it also probably wouldn't be useful :)

I GOT IN!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy!!!
One time, I thought I wouldn't get in, but I'm IN!!!
I'm even on the acceptance letter!! (the part where they introduce new classmates)

Congrats to class of 2010, and good luck to all applicants!!!

What does this year's letter say?

(and of course, which one are you, tokudas?)

ahh. I haven't gotten my letter. Nothing, no news what so ever! Is that a sign? Where do you guys live... I live in northern Virginia.

for all those who have been accepted, congrats!!! if you wouldnt mind taking a moment of your time to do this, could you just post your sat score/gpa/major ec's? curious:)
