Just out of curiosity, did anyone get accepted even when you used score choice?
How would the student know? Let’s say an accepted kid has a superscore of 2200 SAT or 33 ACT. But there were kids with scores above 2200 or 33 that were rejected. So how can anyone answer your question? Your question is unanswerable.
I think he/ she wants to know if anyone sent in just their best scores, not all scores as requested by Penn, and still got accepted.
@lslmom that’s exactly what I meant. Thank you for clearing it up
I did that! Didn’t send in one SAT score & got accepted ED. I was really sketched about not sending it in because I wasn’t sure if they could know somehow but my college counselor assured me they couldn’t. It wasn’t a good feeling to have though. The score I didn’t send in was the same as another SAT score I accidentally sent in my junior year so even if they saw it it shouldn’t have really hurt me.
Your college counselor doesn’t have any integrity if he/she encouraged you to buck the system and unfortunately you are the one who would suffer from the bad advice you received if Penn found out and decided to rescind your acceptance. I doubt that your college counselor knows for sure how colleges verify the information they receive. Like you said, you probably would have been accepted anyway but now you have this dishonesty hanging over your head.
@wharton2O19 Sorry for my harsh comment above – I was trying to tone it down during the edit period but it wouldn’t save. You aren’t the only one. I saw other posts on the decision thread where people said they didn’t send in all their scores. Good luck at Penn!
Sent all my scores including my worst test scores and got into U of As engineering program
Many have. Really send in all the scores per the requirement. The schools have a vested interest in super scoring so it will not hurt you. They publish the super score result for rankings etc. At some elite universities, they have an initial read. That reader already puts on your super score in the summary sheet… before it gets to the next level of reading/scrutiny. Again, sending in the requirement per each university won’t hurt you… bucking the system can and might – not worth it.
