well my last contact was a letter I have not received and its Letter from Dean of Students
Would a rejection letter come from the Dean or of from the Performing Arts??
I have already been academically accepted.

I wish I remembered the sequence and timing, but my D also received a letter from the Dean before she received her theatre acceptance. I just can't remember how much before. I think it was some general academic admissions/financial aid material.

okay well thats good to hear! Alright! Thankyou so much! Will keep in touch! hopefully I will get something soon!!

Accepted!!

I still have not heard and have had no status changes since 2/27 with an accepted students invite that I received along with financial aid letters stating all my stuff was received etc. I auditioned at Unifieds on 1/31. Should I call them to make sure my file wasn't lost or something? Or should I just wait? A friend of mine who auditioned like 2 or 3 weeks ago already got accepted, so I'm kind of confused/worried as to why I haven't heard.

Same, Bird7887. I'm thinking I'm rejected.

I just checked my admission status and it says Letter from Dean of Students sent 3/16 does that mean I was rejected since it doesn't say theatre scholarship?

Does anyone know anyone who has been declined admission to the MT/Acting program this year yet?

Last year it seemed like the "no thank you's" went out within weeks of auditioning. I think it was the same pattern for acceptances. This year it seems acceptances are again following that pattern. But, I hope they aren't waiting till the bitter end to send out all the declines. :-(

Granted, for some it might be because you were still in consideration but didn't make the final cut. However, it wouldn't be the case with everyone though.

If it's an out and out no, I think we'd prefer to find out sooner than later. At least you're not left wondering unnecessarily and you can move on quicker. And if you don't hear till the end, at least know you were a serious contender.

I don't know... all this speculation has got me just grasping at straws here! :-D Yeah, I sort of remember this same craziness setting in long about the third week of March last year! Oy!

My D got her updated financial aid award letter yesterday and they never updated the "last contact" information which still states 2/27 Accepted students letter sent. She called and they said there is still no information. I think everyone is just going to have to hang in there since they continue their auditions into April. BTW has anyone received rejection letters...and when?

Pohsmom, that is comforting. My status hasn't changed. Does this mean we are still in the pool?

I auditioned at Unifieds and they didn't ask to hear my second song. I'm feeling rejection.

Does anyone know what Letter from the dean means??????

CaitiMo, are you a part of the Facebook group (Musical Theatre Class of 2013)? I think it has been discussed, but I'm working on homework right now. Otherwise, I'd look through the pages for you.

No I'm not...

I just checked for you, and it doesn't look like there was any discussion of it.. it was about a similar issue, however.

Pohsmom, D has the same situation in her status. She received her update FA package over a week ago!

I too would really love to know if they've sent out any rejections at all! Waiting till the end to send out mass rejections I think would be a little mean, not intentionally I'm sure... just perceived that way. I mean if they're not interested wouldn't it be better to know asap so the student can concentrate on other avenues? Pace and others do it that way by design so that students can make decisions. Though, it stills hurts to be rejected, especially when the student feels they had a great audition, it's better to be able to move on. Just my opinion of course.

Georgeanne, I couldn't find any discussion of the Dean's Letter on that Facebook thread, but I didn't go all the way back. There's over 300 posts! I only looked at the recent ones.

Since, a few letters went out recently to you, Tyler and CaitiMo, maybe you all can let us know. I hope and pray it's good news for you. Fingers crossed...

Oops! Our posts just crossed Georgeanne! Ignore mine!

Yeah, sorry CaitiMo, I thought for sure there was discussion on it. All the online systems got crossed in my head, I don't know. Blah!

Stay strong, everyone - the waiting will soon be over! :)

Sorry, I want to clarify my thoughts regarding waiting to send out mass rejections.

My feelings only apply to those schools that have rolling admissions and those who notify admitted students early on in the month of March. Just seems it might fit into their process.

Those schools that wait to send out yes's and no's pretty much at the same time, closer to April 1st, well they follow a different pattern all together so it doesn't really apply.

Just my feelings of course regarding this crazy rollercoaster ride! :-)

Hey everyone! My D is in the SAME boat. I am going crazy with the waiting! My D's last contact says the same thing. It is dated 2/27 and says invite to accepted students day. She auditioned way back at Chicago unifieds. I have seen quite a few acceptances but I have no idea when they auditioned. We are not getting our hopes up about Point Park anymore.....oh well. Everything happens for a reason and points us to where they are ultimately meant to be. My D's school that she might very well decide on is one she had known nothing about before this whole process and she loves the school now!

2Bornot2B67, if you think YOU are going crazy, just imagine your D's feeling! I auditioned at Chicago Unifieds as well. I sent an email last week asking if a decision had been made on my file, but received no response.
