I talked to the point park admissions guy yeserday, and he said that they are deciding on all the deferred students and we should know by friday. Does anyone know the expected class yield for this year cause I've heard multiple numbers. Is it 45 or 60? or something else...?

CaitiMo707 -- I don't believe they have any set number for admissions; they have a ceiling of usually 60 but that doesn't mean they will accept that many.

CaitiMo707 - My D is graduating this year and when she auditioned for the "Showcase" (which includes all MT and Acting major seniors) there were 63 or 64 for the senior class this year (so 60 is probably more like the right number for both programs combined). They pick the top Acting and MT students for this program (not more than 15). Check out Showcase 2009: Conservatory Showcase 2008 - Point Park University - it's something to strive for at PPU. Fortunately my daughter was picked for both L.A. and NYC.

I believe they are looking for 45 MT and 30 acting.

Just checked my status and it says our last contact with you was Theatre Apprenticeship Award 4/4/09. So is that good news? anything I should expect!?

it means you were accepted, but with an apprenticeship meaning a scholarship is given to you but you have to work for it as opposed to getting it for free. one of my friends said it has to do with how they grade your audition or something. that's what they told him.

My daughter received a call at while about two weeks ago and was told that one of those who she auditioned for was "on the fence." She was told she could send in a video of her song and monologue again and that they would get back to her soon after viewing it. So she sent it within a couple days and was called a few days later with an acceptance. It was nice to hear that others received a similar phone call, and I'm glad to share that it can have positive results!

well i didnt receive a phone call. I haven't received the letter yet. Just looked at my status.
Thankyou for the help.

Congrats Tyler! That's an acceptance!

Now, if only they'd only get it over with and send the dang rejection letters for the rest of us. I think it's stinky that it's been over two months and no word at all. :(

geez.. took long enough! that's a no from Point Park. big surprise. ;-)

good luck to all who in their decision making! wish you the best!

Argh I’m getting so frustrated… They told me that my admissions decision would be complete by last friday, but still I have heard nothing… no change in anything…
