:/ … I can’t believe they have a cut off… that seems opposite to what they’ve been telling us: “ohhh, its not just one thing that matters, nothing makes or breaks you …” meh. pole sana. I can’t believe its so black and white. Seriously, all through my application process I just kept remembering all those college information sessions that said nothing makes or breaks you…

Maybe its because its CU, and the volumes of people they get? Either way, I hope you get into a college that appreciates you gl

I think acceptance wise into the college generally is the “nothing makes or breaks you” but since the engineering school is so good at CU they do have a certain cutoff and need to stay strong on that (I’m guessing. Katherine said something alone those lines yesterday on the phone.). For all I know it could’ve also been my GPA was a tad too low to say “610 math is okay.”

My son was accepted into engineering at CU, but doesn’t think he will be going there as he wants to play baseball and CU doesn’t have baseball. So…there is one spot maybe.

Good luck. I hope you get into engineering. You want it so badly I have no doubt you will be a success there.

Where is he going then, Centennialmom? Mines? I’m still waiting for Mines scholarship information. Have you received yours? Although CU offered me 16k for 4 years, it’s still 80% sure that I’m going to Mines.

Emrica that’s BS that you didn’t get into Rutgers…your stats were def. good enough to get in there. I know Rutgers is getting pretty good, but still I’d question why they didn’t accept you man. Hope nothing but the best for you.

He has been talking to the Mines coach so we will see what happens there. He still hasn’t gotten any merit aid info from Mines, so don’t know if that will happen. He is also looking at some other school outside of Colorado with Div 3 baseball teams.

I wish CU had baseball. He is definitely leaning towards schools where he can play.

Just thought you guys may want another scenario.

I applied to the College of Engineering at CU boulder. I’m near certain I want to major in engineering. I’m on FIRST robotics, take all IB/AP classes, 25ACT, 3.15 GPA.
I got accepted into the Arts and Sciences program also.

So there are multiple people, (probably many people) who will end up going there in hope of transferring to the engineering program. So don’t keep your hopes up of transferring in after the first year, as you are essentially competing against some of the same people.

When I talked to Mrs. Malone about that she said that you’re competing against only yourself, because if you can keep the grades up and show you want to be in the school, then you’ll make it in. The hassle comes in getting into those classes in the first place.

I’m still fighting for it but it’s looking skeptical unless I get lucky on the re-reviewing process in April and get into engineering because my dad talked to someone who is a junior at CU and he was saying as a mechanical engineer he was forced into some of the classes, so I could only imagine it’s not easy for a freshman to get into those general classes without already being in the engineering school.

I’m not sure exactly, but it seems to be akin to a deferral. They probably want to take a second look at your application before making a decision.

According to mycuboulder, I was admitted early this month, but I still haven’t received an actual admittance package (or scholarship info) in the mail. I’m in-state. Thoughts?

I didn’t receive anything for probably a week afterwards, and still haven’t received scholarship/financial aid info. It’s supposed to come a few weeks after the initial letter, so I’m not too worried.

Just got my acceptance letter! If I got a scholarship, would that information be included in the acceptance package? Because there wasnt anything in there about scholarships…
