Accepted, but Bad Grade After Acceptance

Hello all,

My current major is biochemistry, but I have realized that I hate everything about it and the courses, and decided to divert to going into aeronautics. My transfer college has not seen my current grades for this semester, but they saw my last years grades that were all A’s and B’s.

I cannot understand organic chemistry and I think that I will finish with a C- or D+. I will have an A to A- in physics and most likely an A’s or high B’s in all of my other classes. Will they revoke an acceptance for the low grade in organic chemistry, even though it does not apply to my new major that I was accepted into?

Thank you for all the help!

The people that know work at the college you want to transfer to, especially true considering you haven’t mentioned the name of the college. Policies differ.

The thing to do is get ahead of this; contact the admissions office at the college and ask them. They’re going to see your grade eventually and you’re better off knowing now what may happen instead of waiting for them to first notice next August when they get your final transcript. Furthermore policies are not ironclad; if there is an issue you may be able to work with them to keep your acceptance, something that won’t be possible if they only find out after this school year is over.

They’ll have you submit this semesters transcripts, but usually they will only revoke an acceptance if you significantly dropped your GPA, but even then if you provide a solid reason they may let it slide
