accepted/ denied uf transfer fall 2011

WOW @Lavender! Not fun :\ What college/major did you apply to?

I applied in december and got pushed to my college late january

So I didn’t get in, but I am going to appeal, I’m not giving up. Good luck everyone.

Biological Sciences/CALS.

Did they state a reason j3skahj3skah? With a perfect GPA I just don’t see what logical explanation they would have to reject you.

agree with Gatorgirl^. You definitely should appeal, I really don’t get it either :frowning: Or just keep bugging them until you’re in. If they don’t take me this semester I am for sure going to apply again for January

@j3skahj3skah Did you need to submit a portfolio?

I just found out I was denied admission as well, but I too am appealing it.

Unfortunately I was denied admission today. They informed me I can take online courses and have full access to the campus but since I am from New York will I be able to get an off campus housing assignment? I checked them out and they look pretty nice…

Hopelessgator, did they give you any reason why? I just don’t see how people with near or perfect GPA’s are getting denied admission.

They cited the fact that I did not have all the required core classes for admissions, so I am going to appeal it by telling them that my university does not offer those courses and that I plan on taking them in the summer.

Did anyone apply for economics through CLAS, and if so what were the core courses required?

gatorgirl210 - they said

“Possible Reasons for Denial
NOT COMPETITIVE WITH OTHER APPLICANTS.”

I could only imagine my portfolio wasn’t up to their “standards” but that is so subjective… I am waiting on information from the college of fine arts to get back with me about an appeal process, or if they even do an appeals for the fine arts department… I really feel like i had no reason to be denied.

joebobjoe - yes, I had to send a portfolio

I just got a call from the undergraduate advisor from the fine arts department, she said that there is no appeal process for people getting into the art department but of course they say I can apply next year - hah… Good luck to everyone else :)

I’m sorry to hear that j3skahj3skah, but at least you can apply again next year if UF is where you truly want to go. I’m sure whatever you end up doing will work out for the best. And hopelessgator, that makes sense. I’m sure once they see that you’re going to take that course they will reconsider. They just needed to know that your school didn’t offer it in advance, they don’t know unless you tell them. Good luck!

Mann sorry to hear that guys. And ^ yup. Don’t give up if it’s truly something you want, and everything DOES happen for the best.

I just LOVE this school so much right now and the anxiety they’re killing me with :D

-.-

I’d really rather just be put out of my misery if anything </3

Wow, that’s harsh guys… I’m sure you’ll have other great options lined up.

On an upbeat, I had a few friends in Mechanical / Aerospace engineering hear back between last night and this morning. So if you’re signed up for mechanical, go check!!!

Nothing from chemical engineering yet. Haven’t been able to get in contact with Mrs. Sain by phone or e-mail. This wait is killing me… especially since I can’t even get my admissions advisor on the phone!!! If I don’t hear back in the next few weeks and can’t get in contact, i’ll probably just drive up there and do a face to face

Hello rioteeru we are in the same situation I am applying for chemical engineering too and cannot get in contact with Mrs Sain. Evertime I call UF I get transfered to 3 different people, of which non is any help. I am scared because i don’t know if they are missing any of my materials, once they were missing my transcript but didn’t post it on the website for a few weeks. If it wasn’t for my friend who is applying for mechanical engineering who advised me to call, I would not have found out.

I applied to College of Business in January and have not received an answer. I was wondering if those of you who have applied have checked to see if you have a degree audit on “uf isis”. My degree tracking audit is there and I am curious if all of the colleges do it or if it is just Warrington. Thanks in advance for your replys and good luck.

@thedreadedwait: I’m in the same boat, every time I called the office of admissions they needed something else from me but the website never reflected that; and then when I called to check if they received what they were missing then they wanted something else so aggravating

I’m starting to freak out now because lately we’ve only got denied responses on our forum… I called again this morning and my transcript is still stuck at the international department and I’m worried that they’re going to reject me right away because they’re out of space by the time they get my paperwork :frowning:

Does anyone know if UF follows the National Candidate’s Reply Date? because if they do, then we should all get a reply by May 1st. At least we would know how much longer the wait will be at its longest…

I just want to know. it’s killing meeeeeeeeeeeee
