@dannix3 First of all congratulations! If you don’t mind me asking did you call the college you applied for or just admissions in general? And what did you ask them? I haven’t called yet but I am planning on calling tomorrow I am just not sure what to say when I call. Also they told you over the phone but has your status changed online yet?

just call the admissions at 352-392-1365 then choose option 1 three times and just tell them you want to check your status, they’ll ask for your UF ID number and they’ll tell you what they see on their computer… if you ask more questions, and if they’re in the mood they might dig a little deeper for you… ask things like, do you know what’s holding my decision?, any idea of why it’s taking this long? am I missing any materials?
I used to ask that until somebody finally told me who was the person holding my app and transferred me to her, and she told me exactly when she was going to send my app to my college for final review.

Once it made it to my college I called the college adviser and she mention it was more than one person looking at it, that’s like a mini group from the college that looks at all the apps. she told me 10-15 days, but they did it sooner.

@Lshackelford91, it’s pretty much what @kttn said. I heard from my friend that she was supposed to receive a notification today or tomorrow so I called them around 4:30 and they said they had just made a decision and it wouldn’t reflect online until tonight. She then told me the conditions on which I was accepted and I just checked online right now and my status changed.

I was on the phone with admissions and the Industrial and Systems Engineering advisors back and forth for an hour today so I could finally have someone send my application to my college.
I don’t know about the other majors but at the Industrial E college I was told that they were about to make decisions and they would have all decided by next week… not tonight/tomorrow
Luckily my app got sent over so I am hoping that I will find out any day!

So here’s to trying to solve the mistery about status updates:
I got my official letter today in the mail. The letter had the date April 21st, but the envelope was postmarked April 25th… So apparently I was accepted on the 21st because that’s the date of the letter, however, I checked my status at around 10pm on the 21st and nothing, checked it on the 22nd around 9am, and it was changed to accepted. I’m guessing the computer updates happen at around midnight…

@gatorgirl I applied to CLAS for political science but my friend who applied to the College of Journalism was the one who heard the status would change today/tomorrow, it was coincidence that my application status changed but the advisor I talked to said the applications for CLAS should be reviewed by the end of this week.

This seems to happen to a lot of people, I’ve seen some posts from previous years that their status didn’t change for weeks after they had the letter.

Gottcha. When they said “reviewed by the end of the week”, do you know if they meant just looked over or updated as well? Sorry for the questions, I’m basically losing my mind over here with anticipation, lol.

Haha it’s okay, I was just wondering. Congrats on your acceptance by the way! Hopefully I’ll be studying political science there in the fall too keeping my fingers crossed

Gatorgirl, I love how positive you are!! I keep switching back and forth from being completely positive I’m going to get in, to completely sure I’m not. Everyone finding out is driving me crazy!! I really, really want to know! I hope that CLAS people find out by the end of this week.

So I called several times today and I kept getting the voice mail every single time! I guess I will keep trying every day until I actually speak with someone.

I was having the same problem when calling admissions so i experimented with pressing ‘0’ earlier in the call instead of waiting till they give it as an option to speak with someone. The last few phones calls I’ve made have gone through when i press ‘1’ right after calling and then pressing ‘0’ instead of going to the last menu of options where they offer directing the call over to someone you can speak with.
I know it sounds strange… not sure if its pure luck or there is priority of certain callers set in their call system. Good luck! I know how annoying it is trying to get through!! i left probably 5 voicemails in the past week and none were returned. Another thing I’ve done is call my college directly. They are also able to pull up your application assuming it has already been referred for final decision.

Trust me maybegator, you’re not the only one! As positive as I’m trying to stay, I’ve got some serious doubts… it’s just that I’m trying to ignore them, lol. It’s very frustrating when so many people are finding out and you’re stuck in limbo. On the bright side, the wait can’t possibly be much longer. It’s almost May, and reading from last years transfer forums, it seems like that was the latest that anybody found out (for CLAS anyways). The wait will be worth it, if I get in… but if not, it’s definitely going to stink. Good luck to you though! Let’s hope we find out by the end of the week and GET IN! :)

I got Accepted!!! I applied to the Accounting school in January. I left for class this morning and my mom texted me that University of Florida tried to call. My heart rate went up instantly! I called the number back after class, but the advisor wasn’t available at that moment. The secretary said she would leave him a message that I returned his call. I sat on the couch for like 2 hours just waiting for my phone to ring. Finally it did and he said “Im (his name) from the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida and I’m calling to let you know that your application has been accepted.”!!! I had no idea that some colleges call you in person; I about passed out and my mom was screaming with excitement! So stoked that I am a part of the Gator Nation now!!! Hang in there guys! Its so worth the wait!!

A little off topic but I have two questions

a) Does anyone know of any good apartment complexes closest to UF? Or is there a site or something? My best friend didn’t get in so my living arrangements are now shot to hell and I feel like finding an apartment/roommate is gonna be a royal pain.

b) Coming from a university, I registered for summer classes and now I’m not sure if I should take them or not, does anyone know if CLAS will accept credits after they’ve accepted you?

Hope those admissions decisions keep coming in!
