Yeah definitely! So you’re at the same screen as me right? “moved for final decision”?

Good luck, fingers crossed we get in :)

Yep, it’s been like that since the beginning of February I’d say. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed!! :)

Alright, I’m going into this with a 3.3 overall GPA and a 4.0 in pre-reqs for the Japanese Language and Literature major and I applied for Summer B. I sent in all of my stuff at the beginning of February (2/4/11) and all of my transcripts got there in the next week. I’ve been on “referred to your college for final decision” for the past month or so, but I heard CLAS isn’t sending out decisions until… was it the 25th of March? For some reason I was thinking the 28th of March. Either way, I’m hoping to know soon.

I had talked with an advisor for CLAS and she was very informative when I had my walk-in. She told me that as long as I passed UF’s standards (which she told me I will), then I should have no problem getting into the program. So here’s to hoping she wasn’t giving me false hope!

anyone else apply to the college of engineering and heard a response yet? I’m getting anxious playing the waiting game

I also have been following this thread for a while now and I am just now deciding to post! I applied back in December to CALS and I don’t remember when the status changed to “final decision is being referred to your college”. Here I am in late March still not knowing anything. I don’t see how they can leave students hanging like this without giving us any date as to when we will know. I would feel better if they announced when the decisions would be out, even if it was late April or something because then we would at least know when to expect it. I am transferring from Santa Fe and I only have a 3.3 GPA but I work full time and I volunteer so I hope they will take that into account. Good luck to everyone! :)

I agree, Lshackelford91. I would much rather there be a set date, that way we wouldn’t be acting like crazies checking our status’ every few minutes, lol. We’re pretty much in the dark when it comes to when we will find out.

So I know that this isn’t the proper forum for what I’m about to bring up, but since we are all applying for UF for fall I figured you all would have some good advice for me. you until last semester I was making straight A’s. Last semester I got 2 B’s and 1 C as well as A’s. This semester I am making all A’s so far except for one class…chem 1. The problem here, and where I need advice, is that we have had 2 tests in that class. There are only 3 and then the final. For both tests so far the class has averaged 48%, and 55%, respectively. There was 1 A for both tests and everyone else got F’s. I too got an F which is strange considering I did well in modern chem and I’m a bright student. Appaerently I am not the only one who is having a problem. My question is, I was told that I should talk to someone in Admin about it and see if there is anything that can be done to fix this problem that we are all having in the class. Who should I talk to? What do I say? I know this all might sound silly and again, I know this is the wrong place for this but I would appreciate any sort of advice. Thank you!

Ask the teacher is there is going to be a curve? In a lot of my science classes an A isn’t necessarily a 90.

Just wondering here, how often do all of you check? I applied on Dec 24, and i’ve been checking since February at least 2x a day, lol.

:( I literally check like 15 times a day

welle - last year I was in your shoes and at first I’d check multiple times a day. Then after browsing last year’s transfer thread I found that they update the status around 7-8pm on week nights… there’s a time like every week night around that time that the application status goes down and a lot of times people will find their status change when it comes back up. I started just checking after 9pm on weeknights and it saved my sanity a little bit. Waiting this long is hard enough but checking a thousand times a day makes it worse I think.

hsb thats actually funny you say that because someone on this thread had their status change around that time too…

That really does help, I’m going to start doing that because this really is driving me crazy.

Thank you :)

rioteeru, she has turned down curving both tests. I’m just very nervous since that’s the 1 class that is giving me a hard time and I cannot afford to have a bad grade in it.

As for checking status, I used to check at least 3 times a day and as several people have mentioned before the status usually changes after 8 pm. Some people have said that their status updates on weekends so I check every day after 9ish. Checking a bunch of times a day is too hectic and stressful. So cutting it down to just once makes things a bit easier.

zappiaer, is it a prerequisite for your major? As in, is it required for the major you are applying for? Also, is the class itself curved? Most General Chemistry classes are…

Ufhopeful24, yeah it is a pre req for my major. I need to take chem 2 this summer also. If I get into UF (fingers crossed) then I’m sure it’d be conditional with receiving a B or higher in that. What do you mean by the class is curved?..the tests themselves?..or the final class grades?

More than likely, it will be conditional to receive a B or better in the class.

When I ask if the class is curved - a lot of times, classes like chemistry or physics will be a curved class, meaning an 85 might be an A, and a 72 would be a B, etc.

Here’s hoping we see some more acceptances this week! :)

uhopeful24, unfortunately the class isn’t curved. I spoke to my professor today and she said that it our fault that we all received poor grades and that there will be no curve of any kind. I’m not really sure what to do since I’m now at the point where my teacher isn’t willing to give any advice or compromise with the class. I was told to talk to the dean and have my class members sign a petition to have either the class curved or the past tests curved. Do you think that might be too hasty?

Aaaaaaccccccceeeeeepppppotttttteeeedddddddd . Iv followed this thread for about a month since i turned my application. N now I can say i got in yeeeaaa. Here’s hopin every1 following the thread gets in.3.6 GPA chem major hoping to change to chem engineer.

Congrats stang72! When did you find out?

So every time I check my status and it hasn’t changed, it’s the most disappointing feeling in the world.

I’m happy I’m not the only one going through this freaking torture!! igrhirheuitriugteri

Congrats to everyone who got in :)

I really hope we find out this week :(
