Accepted ED, chance of revocation

How likely is it that my admissions offer will be revoked? I have mostly all b's and 1 c. Does wm have a past history of revoking offers?

If you were admitted ED, you’ll note on the welcome website and in the email you receive confirming receipt of your enrollment deposit that your offer of admission is contingent upon continued high standards of academic and personal conduct, and completion of works in progress.

We will review your first semester grades and final transcript. If we see a dramatic down turn, we will contact you and ask you to explain.

Has W&M revoked admission in the past? Yes. Do we do so frequently? Absolutely not. Any student who appears to be faltering will be sent a letter asking to explain the situation. Sometimes there are perfectly reasonable explanations. Sometimes, the letter is a good wake-up call to the student who must overcome senioritis and continue to push through the rest of senior year. This is our way of reaching out to you and making sure you understand the support services available to you as well as the expectations we have of you.

If you believe your first-semester grades will be far different than your previous record, it might be best for you to first reach out to your regional dean to let them know why. That shows a lot of maturity and acceptance of responsibility on your part.

Hope this helps.
