Son was accepted for Fall 2012, OOS. Received acceptance 12/24/2012.

Congrats! Hopefully I’ll see your son at Clemson in the fall! Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you out with the college decision or questions about Clemson.

Letter, email?
Congrats!

Received acceptance letter through mail.

Pierre----We are OOS, NY, and are planning a trip to visit, both Clemson and SC during February break.

Here’s all the information that you need: [Schedule a Tour : Clemson University](<a href=“Visit | Clemson University, South Carolina”>Visit | Clemson University, South Carolina)

You can sign up for a regular campus tour (9:45 AM or 1:45 PM Monday-Saturday and 1:45 PM on Sunday) there or an honors college visit ([Schedule a Visit with honors staff : Clemson University](Apply)). If your son is in engineering, they have department tours on February 3, 10, 17, 24, March 2, 9, 30, April 6, 13, 20 and science majors can schedule an appointment as well ([Visit Us : Clemson University](<a href=“Undergraduate Students”>Undergraduate Students)). If your son is in the College of Agriculture, Forestry or Life Sciences, you can make a personalized visit or on Friday’s they have a program called “Destination Clemson” where they can learn more about the College ([Visit Us : College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences : Clemson University : South Carolina](<a href=“Page not found”>Page not found)). If your son is in nursing, I believe there is a visitation day in March or April ([Prospective Freshmen : Clemson University](<a href=“College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences”>College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences))

There’s also information there on the first link about accommodations, how to get to Clemson, places of interest, a scavenger hunt as well as a link to a self-guided iPod/iPhone tour in case you can’t go on the normal campus tour.

Enjoy your visit!

Thanks a lot! We are OOS/NY. Son received a very nice academic scholarship, 7500.00 per year, but not the OOS waiver, so not sure how we can afford Clemson, but we are gonna check it out anyway.

Looks like a great school!

I applied to Clemson Early Action back in October and have not gotten a letter. Anyone in New England get one yet?

for most people, the notification date if you applied before December 1st is Feburary 15th so just try and hang in there one more month!

I was interested to see that ddotjon’s son got an acceptance so early. My son applied early, is OOS, and qualifies for $5000 in OOS tuition assistance based on top 10% and 1290 SAT. Should I be concerned that we have not heard yet, despite the fact that February 15 is the stated reply date?

Now that I have read a few of the other threads, it seems that many kids who qualified for OOS tuition awards have already been notified. This doesn’t make me to optimistic for my son. Too paranoid?

CBHailey…You might want to call Clemson, and make sure all your son’s documents have been received. My son applied in September, gave the info to the HS registrar, and a month later I discovered his HS transcript did not go out. I called the HS and was told that the application date, which I supplied, was December for Clemson, so his HS was holding the application in the office, and dealing with the applications with earlier deadlines. I was really annoyed, and called the guidance counselor, and it all went out immediately. So, maybe your son’s application file was not complete at Clemson as early as you think.

ddotjon…Thanks. I called (these folks are extremely friendly and helpful) and it seems that the notifications go out first to the 15K and 10K award recipients, and they are currently working on the 7.5k and 5k applicants. My son will only qualify for the 5k, so he simply isn’t as high on the pecking order. My hope is that students who are qualified enough to even get the 5k are likely admits, but who knows. If he doesn’t get in to Clemson, he’ll be pretty happy with Elon where he was already accepted. Congrats to your son!

Accepted in Dec. GPA 4.24, SAT 2040.

Very helpful school staff. Look forward to spring break visit.

My son applied to Clemson by December 1 and was accepted in January. He has a 1300 M/CR SAT, (2060 w/ W) but has not heard anything regarding the widely publicized $5,000 OOS scholarship. Do those awards/scholarships typically arrive with the acceptance letter or will it be sent as part of a financial aid package? Have Clemson admits received their financial aid offers? The FAFSA was filed in February. We have received word from many other colleges, but his Clemson website account does not present any awards: grant, work study, Federal loans… Any insight would be appreciated :)!
