Accepted In-State Thread

Post your stats if you got accepted In-state..

If you lie, I'll hunt you down and give you a lesson on not lying on CC forums

talk to your guidence councelor. They should have detailed stats about everyone who applied to UNC from your school the past few years. They should be able to tell you what you need to do to get in.

I got a likely letter with a 3.9 uw, 1410 SAT.

likely letter and honors w/

1460 SAT
3.9 UW
4.8 W
some other stuff 2.........I'll post it if u want it

1600 SAT, 800 SATIIs (all of them), 36ACT, 5s on every AP offered (independent study on all of them, school offers 20 of them but I believe that the level of instruction is below par), 180 LSAT (winged it)

Valedictorian

5.0/4.0, actually my school had to rescale it's GPA just for me

President of every club at my school, founder of half of them

National Champion in CC, swimming, track, golf, tennis, chess, wrestling, equestrian, gymnastics, skiing--hate team sports, broke a few Olympic records, didn't participate in the Games because professionals are barred

My college essays were published (including the One in which I reveal the Meaning of Life), NY Times bestseller for 10 straight weeks

I don't perspire, the laws of physics do not apply to me

Variance,
you know I'm kidding. Chill out! Life is still good! You'll get into UNC!

To the rest of you,
I'm kidding. My stats are not even close to the above. It's just that this is almost the 10th post by Variance this month trying to figure out if she can get in. And she has great stats by the way.

correction: "he"

lol

Sorry, you were being such a big sissy, that I subconsciously assumed that you were a girl.;)

good one, mradio.

I've been on CC way too long, lol. I actually believed some of what mradio wrote. :)

There actually are, scarily enough, people like that on CC...

Ooh...what is it?

Variance, I had a 1540/790/750/740, 5.87 w/4.0 uw, and fairly good ecs.

those are one of the best stats i seen around..
you should get a lot of financial aid from private schools.. (like Duke or Elon..)

warblersrule86,
42

5.87 weighted GPA.....you sure its not 4.87.........what school do you go to???? At my school that would mean taking like 20 AP's and maybe 3 Honors and thats it?!!? maybe ur school weights differently

mradio, thanks. I can't believe I forgot that with the movie coming out!

humbucker, my school uses a 6.0 scale. An A in a regular class gets 4 points, an A in an advanced/honors/pre-IB/AG class gets 5 points, and an A in an IB/AP class gets 6 points. My cumulative weighted (7 semesters) is about 5.25.

I got in in-state. 1440 / 780 / 740 / 670 / 3.4 UW

And don't worry about all the people with 1500's and 4.0's; I know tons of kids who got in with low 1300's and around a 3.0 (in-state of course).

What class rank were you?
Im in a very competitive school...

I got into UNC and my stats suck.

1350/800/700/720
we don't have GPA's here, but if we did I am guessing my uw would be a 3.0
I don't do a lot of extra curric and I wasn't a sport recruit. I just play a couple of sports and work on the literary magazine. I wrote a pretty cool essay though, so I guess that's good. I go to boarding school in New York, but I live in Charlotte, so it's instate.

Those stats don't suck. I know many people who would kill for a 1350. Even for Chapel Hill, its in the top 25%.

Actually. Its around 65-70th percentile for UNC...

UNC=

25th percentile is 1190
50th percentile is 1290
75th percentile is 1390

well thanks :) I guess it's just really competitive where I go to school. All my friends are going to like, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Vassar, WashU at St. Louis, etc., so I tend to think my stats suck. But I'm really really really really really really really happy I got in. I didn't think I would :).

yeah, you're right Variance. Sorry, for some reason I thought that UNC was 1190-1290 <brain fart="">.</brain>
