I don't think back_space reads this forum anymore. Try private-messaging him instead.

backspace is actually a girl ;), but then i'll admit i thought you were female, flopsy. she (backspace) doesn't go on cc too much anymore but i'll see if she doesn't mind putting up her stuff.

A couple questions:

I'm interested in applying to DMA as well, but my portfolio is mostly traditional art (paintings, drawings, mixed media) oriented with virtually no "design" pieces. Will that lessen my chances for acceptance?

I've dabbled in some computer art/design, but have no serious pieces. Should I start working on some design related pieces to add to my portfolio or let the traditional art focus stand?

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Why do people think I'm a girl, knowing that I'm a Computer Science major?

I think it's because that smiley you always use has girlish features. Maybe if you found a way to give the smiley a beard...

hahah...if it's any consolation, i always thought you were a guy.

i actually went to a ucla arts meeting, and the guy said that prospective dma majors don't have to have digital pieces in their portfolio. traditional's fine =)

those who got accepted, could you update us later about how you like that program?

i'm a canadian student and thinking about transferring there (but i heard you have to be a junior to transfer?)...

it'd be nice to know if the program is somewhat comparable to the other big art schools like art center, risd, etc...
