Accepted into Baylor... Who else is going?

So I just received my acceptance letter…For fall 2013
Who else is going :)

My D got accepted for fall 2013 too. We are waiting to see if she will be invited for an OV by the coach. She absolutely loves the school but was hesitant about the surrounding town.

My D was accepted waiting to hear from music conservatory.

I was accepted! I want to go, but I’m waiting to hear about the Falculty Scholarship winners first.

crittermom- I was very hesitant about Waco as well. But, after visiting twice I’m not as worried.

@pandamic: do you know any of the specifics about the Faculty scholarship as in how many they give out? I have heard numbers from 8 to 50 and everywhere in between. this scholarship will pretty much make or break my going to Baylor

I got into Baylor in November. If I get enough finaid I will definitely go. What is the faculty scholarship? Also Waco makes me nervous. I’ve heard good and bad things, help?

I got in. If I get the Baylor2Baylor and my national merit finalist status is confirmed, it’s a pretty sure bet.

I’m going to Baylor! Fall 2013 I am National Merit and I found out today that I was awarded one of the Faculty Scholarships! @missielissie, I’ve heard that 10 get it. Someone else here on CC said 10 per group… there were four groups, so that would be 40. Not exactly sure, but you should have found out by now if you got a Faculty scholarship. Best of luck to you all, and I hope to see you at Baylor in the fall!

I’ve been accepted as well. I received some financial aid, but it’s hard for a private school’s financial aid package to compete with a public school’s financial aid package. The scholarship(s) might be worth more, but tuition and room and board is also much higher.

D received a President’s Gold Scholarship and invited to an “Invitation of Excellence” weekend in Jan. She is also NMS.

My D is accepted and is confirmed for Memorial HRC.

@HawksNSox, obvious tuition is higher, but I found room and board to be aprox same as all other schools we looked at.

Found out I was accepted this morning for a Fall 2013 Transfer.

I got in as a summer 2013 transfer. Getting ready to pay my deposit in a few days. Leaving austin to go back to Killeen and get ready for the move to Waco. Waco is just a boring town, not as dangerous as austin or dallas.

My S is accepted, and went to Invitation to Excellence in November, but did not receive a faculty scholarship. He is a NMS, and so eligible for full tuition and fees. He has also been accepted into the brand new residential college for computer science/engineering majors. We are just dithering over whether to make University of Tulsa his first choice for National Merit as they have a full ride Presidential scholarship (that his sister is on presently) that he has a chance of getting. He can’t decide which he likes better. But if he doesn’t get the Presidential at TU, his likely scholarship at Baylor goes way down to 17,000, and it doesn’t seem like there are any other big scholarships to fill in the gap there (having been turned down for a faculty scholarship). Any thoughts? Engineering is not big at Baylor, but it seems they are investing in it with the new facilities.

When does Tulsa announce Presidential winners? As long as it is before April 30 and you do not accept anything NMSC related before then I believe you can change your first choice. I would list undecided until then, unless you need to have that indication to be considered for Presidential from Tulsa.

FYI, info in the NM forum says he is MNF until he is awarded a scholarship sponsored from NMSC at which time he is considered NMS.

Yes, I did discover though he had to list TU as #1 to be considered for their Presidential in the first group, Baylor did not care as long as he designated them if and when he accepted by May 1. So we switched to TU, but then he did not get the full ride Presidential, so we switched back to Baylor. Still waffling over who to pick, since now his corporate scholarship will stack at TU, so they cost about the same. Actually, he wants to go to Rice, but it will cost twice as much each year it looks like, so we are reluctant to pay that, though the engineering would be better there.

What was your gpa for transfer

Th months rebuffed

just found out I was accepted for Fall Transfer! excited still deciding btw Baylor and Howard
