So I've been accepted to my state college in California and I got my schedule and was placed in a remedial English class. I took the EPT and failed (had personal things going on) and so my school placed me in remedial English. I had straight A's in English and talked to my counselor about retaking the EPT. My counselor and friends said if I score higher or pass requirements I can exempt myself from next quarter of remedial English. However, I checked on the EPT /ELM website and it said the EPT can only be taken once. I'm really confused and don't know what to do. I didn't start college yet and I will soon and when I tried to sign up for the EPT it asked for my high school but I already graduated. Is it possible to take the EPT?

It would seem your school has the answer to this, no? Contact them Tuesday morning. ASAP. They don’t want you to waste time if you’re truly overqualified for the remedial class. Assume they’ll be rational. Good luck to you
