Accepted into UC Berkeley with low stats?

Hello, is there any stories from previous years where a Low stats (low GPA & SAT/ACT) got into Berkeley.
Because i heard UCB is more holistic than UCLA when it comes to low stats students with hardships or poor backgrounds, is that true, any stats that unexpectedly got accepted to uc Berkeley and denied from UCLA. ?

Please help yourself to post.....Real stories only please no fake.

Yes, I was admitted into Berkeley for the fall of 2014 with a GPA UW 3.5 W 3.67 and an ACT of 26. I meantioned some significant hardships I had in my personal statements and I truly believe that’s what got me in.

True for me. Denied from all my privates (USC, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Brown, but then again those already seemed impossible with my stats) and UCLA.

Accepted with a ~3.6 UW and 4.0 W and 2140 SAT, which is relatively low. I didn’t think my hardships were too significant, but then again I lived with them my entire life ($22,000 income, parents divorced last December, first-generation student, queer). I didn’t mention them at all in my personal statements though, just through the boxes I checked/filled out on the UC App. Personally focused on my strengths on the essays themselves because I didn’t want it to appear that I was trying to “use” my hardships. Though honestly if the hardship was something like abuse I would have touched upon it.

Accepted to Berkeley yesterday with 3.5 UW/3.8W and 2030 SAT  I got the supplemental questionnaire and poured my heart into it that’s what got me in! Go bears!

I got accepted, but as a spring applicant. I heard a lot of things about spring applicants, and it seems like we’re the borderline kids?
My stats weren’t exactly low, but way below Berkeley’s average: I had a 2120 SAT, 3.8 GPA unweighted, 4.0 weighted.
UCLA rejected me, UCSD waitlisted me, and I’m overall a pretty mediocre applicant (barely any volunteer or extra curriculars, average essays, never won anything special, never held leadership positions, etc.)
I was so surprised Berkeley offered me something, especially since SD didn’t.

I was also accepted with relatively low stats to spring. I had a 4.17 GPA with a 2160 SAT and 32 ACT but received a special talent supplementary from UCB in regards to my sports participation since I compete at a national level for my sport/club.

2030 SAT and 3.61 UW GPA / 3.71 UC GPA here. Spring admittance, no supplement. Accepted to UCLA and UCSD (SD with sup).

I got accepted to UC Berkeley.1390 SAT Score with 4.3 Unweighted GPA. I talked about hardships in my family and our income issue. Got denied to UCLA though.

I was admitted into Berkeley with SAT Reasoning score of 1800 and a 3.8 WGPA. I also got into UCLA and wasn’t rejected from any school in California, though I didn’t get into Yale.
