Can you guys post your stats or stats of you friends that were accepted to UCI,UCSB,UCD,UCSD,UCLA,UCB. With low or below average stats. For Example: UCB Admit Fall 2005 3.6UC GPA 1000 SAT 510 Math 2c 560 Lit 530 Bio. If you can post admits from fall 2005 that would be great but any of the previous years is fine as well..thank you

There are none. The UCs are stat-based first and foremost, so this very rarely ever happens. I know one girl, Kevin Costner's daughter, who was accepted to Berkeley with below average stats--probably because she was Kevin Costner's daughter.

Actually there are people that are admitted with below avg stats admitted to UC's. I know someone who was admitted to Davis with a 3.7UC gpa 970 SATI 540 avg sat 2...the uc's might be stat-based but they care about your struggles, EC, and essays

Davis isn't very hard to get into...I'm not sure those stats are much below average. The SATs are a bit low but I bet that GPA is average-ish. And how long ago was he admitted?

She was admitted for fall 2005

my friend had a 980 sat 1 score and was ranked 298 out of 630 last year and got into ucla

what was his/her sat I and II scores...? Are they low income/1st generation?? Was he/she admitted fall 2005

I know 2 people with GPA's below 4.1 and SAT's with 1100 and 2 SAT2s below 600 who werent 1st gen, or live in poverty, and minimal EC's who got into UCB and UCLA

caliplaya, i don't know my friends sat 2 scores, but im sure they were really bad, he was first generation, low income, had 2 jobs... however, he got a "D" in AP statistics so UCLA revoked do now he goes to community college

Well, to say the least there are people out there that have been able to get into alot of the really UC's based on other aspects of the essay. I had a had alot of friends that had GPA's that were around the 4.00 range with so so SAT score(1200 on old sat/1800 on new, 590 sat2 scores) but they had amazing stories that blew me away.

And there essays could have been published in a book. So if you are one of those B+ students that was decent scores and really good EC's, community service, amazing story to tell. you well get in.

My friend's girlfriend got into Berkeley with a 2.8 or so UW GPA, and a 1190 on the SATIs. She didn't have a sob story, either, and she was Asian. Dunno how she pulled it off.

wow, was this for fall 2005?

Will SAT II scores still be weighted more than the SAT I or will this change with the new writing section on the SAT I

b/c its a state university, UCs even the top ones UCB and UCLA are required to take some of these ppl.

Well, they have to accept people below average or else it wouldn't be the average. Somebody has to bring down the 1580's and 4.3's.

I would be more than glad to soften cal's GPA! :)

1190/2.8 got into Berkeley without a sob(bing) story...

I wonder, like adcom are people, and ppl make mistakes. With a huge incoming class, how often folks got someone else's place by mistake ?

ive got a 3.67GPA UW - 4.1GPA W and a 2150SAT
out of state
looking for UCB but i dont know about that...
we'll see what happens to me.

after looking atht is site, i threw up
