Accepted Ohio State OOS, scholarship?

I was accepted to the Ohio State Business Program as an OOS student today. I haven't received merit information yet, but was told by someone in the admissions office that it would come with an acceptance letter. My grades and test scores alone qualify me for the maximum OOS Merit Scholarship, the National Buckeye Scholarship worth $12,000 per year, as my SAT was 1380 and my ACT was a 33. Has anyone received scholarship info yet?

Be patient. My son was accepted recently as well, in state to the Business school. His stats were similar (33 ACT, 1400 SAT, 4.4GPA) and we have not heard a thing yet either with respect to merit scholarships. It is astounding to me though that OOS students receive so much more; in state, with his numbers nets roughly $3k in tuition support. I’m assuming that OSU is really trying to infuse some diversity with geography.

This isn’t unusual. The OOS cost is so much higher.

Actually, $12k isn’t that much for an ACT 33 for an OOS public. That is probably only covering most of the OOS portion.

Well that is good to hear. He has also been accepted to Penn State as well and really liked the school, in addition to the University of Michigan which is at the top of his list. We had been told, even with the same ACT score, not to expect any merit dollars from either of those schools.

I was very interested in michigan until I looked into it more. It’s very expensive and I heard that you can’t actually get into the business school until sophomore year. Why would anyone risk paying for 2 years at a school then not getting into their intended major?
