Accepted online, Rejected/Deferred by mail?

thanks vc08
hopefully i will get into miami
do you think sending my semester grades for this semester will help?
the gpa will ddef be improved...

yeah, strong semester grades, esp. senior year, will def pull a lot of weight. send in extra letters of rec if they can portray a different aspect of your character, get in touch with your regional counselor, etc. if you put in the time, you will either have positive results or be able to know you did everything in your power to succeed.

absolutely it will help if you send your first semester grades if they have shown ANY improvement- i know my school does that automatically, but I can't be sure about others
i know if i get deferred (which is looking like it will happen) i will send my first semester grades because I've shown great improvement in very difficult classes- i would recommend you do the same
it also shows you aren't slacking off senior year which i REALLY want to do but can't... not until midterms at least... then it's skipping first period everyday and not doing homework! haha can't wait for senioritis!

are they going to send out another batch of acceptances or is it going to be more of sporadic acceptances and deferrals (mostly deferrals)?

^^be careful...I got accepted but I'm worried about being revoked. I mean I'm not that close or anything and I'm not putting much effort (A, 3 Bs (including a low 80s one, but 2 high ones as well) and a high C)...but if I COMPLETELY (like skipping and not doing ANY Hw) let loose I could see it happening. I mean I doubt they would really REVOKE your acceptance unless you totally messed up with GPA with mostly Cs or below, but senioritis, imo it's not worth risking your future for.

gijonman
you say your brother was accepted about a month after being deferred
did he do anything to increase his chanced?
good luck to you =)

I heard that out of 6,000 attending students last year they only revoked 8 offers of admission. so as long as you don't get 4 Cs or a D/F, you should be fine.

haha yea i would never slack off that much... besides i have straight A's right now and i already miss first period once a week... oopss haha but thats only AP politics which, while it is an AP, is suprisingly the easiest AP at my school- all i do is read the chapter the night before the tests and i get A+'s

I actually know someone at Miami of Ohio and she loves it. Always talking about how pretty the campus is, how awesome her teachers are, etc.

Can you folks teach me how to get straight A's in school?
Thanks. The only class I'm good at is Polar Bear Fighting (perfect of michigan apparently???).

sent in midsemester grades)which were all A-'s and B+/A-) and he sent new SAT scores(went from 1340-1410) about a week before he was deferred. But more importantly he was admitted right after ED, so assume a bunch of deferrals get admitted at that time. it wasn't his first choice tho and got in ED elsewhere, but still that is what happened to him.
