=Rejected, right?

in what context?

when you click the 'view decision' link.

I hate to say it but I think you have been rejected. :(

When I clicked that like it told me I was admitted.

right, and deferred people don't end up with a link at all. (after all, a final 'decision' hasn't been rendered on them.) worst.

Maybe deferred?

Umm, if I was forced to guess I'd say rejected sadly :*(

Deferrals didn't get a link at all, just a mailed letter (at least for me). Acceptances got a link saying Congrats and an email, and then a mailed letter

I thought as much. Thanks.

hmm...sorry but would u mind telling us ur stats?

hahahaha. stats. okey dokey. i don't think they'll help you much, though.

in state; 35 act (taken once); double legacy; app complete early december.

pretty sure i took the hardest schedule in my class. i finished up all the sci/math classes last year, and i took a senior level physics class at ou this year (although i don't think michigan ever knew about this).

i've done a bunch of research, most of it at michigan. i have two publications pending in what my mentor has said are the two must prestigious journals in the field (neuroscience)

on that note, i've also recieved some certifications from umich. nothing much, just their PEERS 'responsible research whatever whatever'

oh, and my biggest thing is this national nonprofit publication that i've produced over the last year. a few umich professors have written articles to be published in it.

high school gpa - 3.1; that's including frosh year, though. i had a major death in my family and my 10/11 umich gpa was like 2.1 i think. apparently that's an auto-rejection.

i thought i might have a shot because my teacher rec was 'best in career' glowing, etc, etc, despite the fact i got a D in her class. oh well.

hmm. i'm debating whether i should 'appeal' or whatever, and ask these professors to go to bat for me...

anyway, those are my stats. as you can see, it's all about the umich gpa (although you likely knew that anyway). hopefully i'll go someplace better.

wow tennisdude, u seem like a very impressive candidate barring ur gpa. it stinks that its ur gpa thats keeping u out, just like how the pullups kept me out of west point. anyway, there are other places that will overlook a low gpa because of ur tremendous accomplishments.

in an older post of yours, you said you got a 33 on your act??

but if you do get rejected, i would try my hardest to have senior year grades be all A's and then appeal and send my transcript.

yeah, i thought it was 33; i checked this morning after i got rejected, it's actually 35. that writing thing was only 31, though. so that might have brought me down

Did you explain the drop in your grades? (major death in family)

And if not, you should appeal explaining it. Also, even if you did but your grades went up this semester, then you could appeal it with that new information.

hmmm. i do have all A's this semester + the A's in my ou classes; i'm not sure how much that's going to help me. it's worth a shot, i guess?

I think you hve a great shot if you appeal!

meh, you think so? my new grades will do it? some extra letters of recommendation? i feel like that whole 'appeal' thing is for looks more than practice...

Did you explain your personal situation Tennisdude, regarding your legitimate hardship? If you haven't, you should definitely get the school to write an explanation. You should also get the professors at Michigan with whom you worked to write you a recommendation. Once you have all of that, appeal the dicision.

Appeal it. There aren't a lot of students of your caliber, and seriously I know how it is to have personal troubles really screw you. If you haven't already, do an essay on the deaths in your family.

There is no "automatic rejection" for grades.
