I got email today from someone from UMBC saying Congratulation on your admission to UMBC...There is opportunity to join CSI summer program for new students..etc THEN in MAIL i get rejection letter...o.O? I will take the Letter in Mail as more truth..but just confused lol.

That’s really odd.

Call and ask. You have to call. Hope for good news.

I will call on monday i guess…

Definitely take BillyMc’s advice and call. Make sure you talk with an admission’s officer, getting their name and email address. Then, forward them the congratulatory email you received and have them stay on phone until they receive it to discuss this matter further.

I would NOT go down without a fight on this one… Good luck.

Well, they won’t let you pay a deposit to secure your admission unless you have actually been admitted. So, I would find on the email or ask the sender where the “deposit link” is and see what happens when you then try and deposit.

LMAO i am not going to fight…I just want to know…Even if i get in i doubt i will go there.
Anyway did anyone get email from UMBC with that type of info on it?

And yea the person missed “to” in one of her sentence…prob typo? lol

i’ve heard of colleges sometimes accidentally sending out acceptance mail to rejected students, so unfortunately that may be the case…i have no idea though, that’s really confusing- definitely call to clear things up.

i am going to feel so odd calling them…

yeah, it’s a really unfortunate situation…i think it’s the only way to clear things up, though. you could always email instead of calling if you think that’s less awkward.

Use email. Forward the “acceptance email” to the admission’s department. In the body of the email, explain the confusion regarding receiving an acceptance email and a rejection letter.
This way, they can see the acceptance email that was sent to you.

i mean it really isn’t an “Acceptance email.” It did say congratulation…the email was from an UMBC CSI program. Who should i email? The one who sent me email or the main umbc…
