I was accepted early action and I want to know if I should enroll immediately or wait and see if I get into HYPS. Is there a possibility of me losing my spot if I wait?

Your spot is guaranteed, as long as you send back your response card before May 1. There’s nothing wrong with waiting to see where else you are accepted or what your financial aid packages are. ND is not expecting you to respond immediately. Relax, and enjoy the security of knowing you have a spot at such an awesome university!

Hey, MontanaDomer, I am from Montana also, and I am waiting to see on my decisions for HPS. There is no reason to send it in early unless you are 100% certain that ND is where you want to go even if you are accepted at HYPS. Good luck! Do you find the same thing I do, that not many in our state even think of applying to these schools?

Thank you for your input! Where in Montana are you from??? Yeah it seems like nobody else applies, but remarkably this year 3 students were accepted to ND from my high school, when one student in the past decade has been accepted.

Hey, I’m a freshman at ND right now, and my initial reaction when I saw this post was “Of course!” But like the above posters said, there’s no harm in waiting. I got in early but didn’t send in my enrollment until the second week of April (waiting on financial aid/making sure it was really where I wanted to go.)

Quick thought on HYPS: to say they’re AMAZING schools would be an understatement, and if one of those is your dream school, then go for it. But as far as academic rigor and reputation go, I feel like Notre Dame is equivalent, if not superior, to HYPS. When I tell people I go to Notre Dame, I get the same reaction my friend does when he tells people he goes to Princeton.

My S just received notification a few days ago that he was nominated as an early action referral. Has anyone else received this?
