Hey everyone, there’s no material on buzzport about accepted student days. On the website they say they have information sessions for accepted students and then Golden Carpet Day. I’m from out of state a couple hour flight away and planning on visiting, but I want to know when to. A couple questions:
If I’m visiting should I plan to attend for Golden Carpet Day
Golden Carpet Day is listed as April 14-16, is it that whole 3 day period or just any of those days?
I could be wrong but it looks like Georgia Tech changed their admitted students days. Before there would be some in February and March as well as April (I think it was called Destination Tech). If you want to learn more about Georgia Tech then definitely attend Golden Carpet Day. If you have the opportunity to spend the night in a dorm, I recommend you do so. My DD really enjoyed that part of her program and still is friends with the students she stayed with. If three days are listed then it is a multiple-day program. If you really want to attend, then be sure to let your regional admission person know so that they can make sure you get an invite.
I called the admissions office to ask the same questions since we have to arrange for flights. I was told that Gold Carpet Day is a 3 day program which is more in-depth than in the past. I could not elicit any more detailed information. I did not get a straight answer on whether my DD would need to be there all 3 days or if certain days are for certain majors, or what is scheduled on Thursday so I knew if she needs to be there early or we can fly down after she finishes school that day. Either way, I do not think she will attend Gold Carpet Day because she would miss too many days of school here.
