It would be great if accepted students would post what audition songs and monologues they used

Ironic that you should ask...I felt like Syracuse was my weakest audition and therefore used completely different pieces for ALL of my other 8 auditions. I did David Ives' A Singular Kinda Guy as my monologue, as well as "This Can't Be Love" from The Boys From SYRACUSE and "If I Sing" from Closer Than Ever. Looking back, it wasn't the most versatile audition. I really wish they would require a classical monologue. Oh well...good luck to all picking their material out for next year!

brendan i have put your s.n. on my buddy list but it says your never on....if you could i..m. me possibly the next time your on....im IceBear411
thanks matt

I used "Will He Like Me" from She Loves Me and "Life Upon the Wicked Stage" from Showboat.

Monologue was one from a play called Spine the part of Claire

Audition Songs- "Who Will Love Me As I Am" ---Side Show
"Get Some Cash For Your Trash" ---Ain't Misbehavin'
Monologe: "New York Water"--Sam Bobrick

uptempo: Holding to the Ground from Falsettos
ballad: I've Never Said I Love You from Dear World
monolouge: Alma from Summer and Smoke

Omigosh, Liz24, Summer and Smoke is my D's favorite play and she is dying to play Alma someday.

Summer and smoke is a DEFINITE favorite of mine too!

I had an alma monologue very high up on my list for a long time.

Hey Liz24, I really want to do the Alma monologue from summer and smoke for my audition. I am having a hard time finding it though, if possible can you send it to me?

Further, you need to read the whole play, not just the monologue. The play is readily available. I just checked. For instance, you can get it at Barnes and Noble or Amazon and it costs $7.50.
