I was recently accepted at Brandeis, am strongly considering attending, but was curious about one thing:

Do colleges usually have an “accepted students day/weekend” or something similar? Something like an open house, probably like the 3rd week in April, since everyone’s on vacation that week?

If Brandeis has something like this, does anyone know when it is so I can plan accordingly? Also, has anyone attended this at Brandeis in the past who could tell me what its like / if I should even bother going?

Yes, Brandeis has one and it is definitely worth going to. There are the typical number of canned presentations and tours, but you also get the opportunity to meet professors from every department (they have an academic open house in the gymn), sit in on classes (you can easily fit in two, choosing from a wide variety of disciplines), and stay overnight in the dorms.

Call the Admissions Office to see if they've scheduled it for this year. Last year it was on a Monday/Monday night in early April. If they do the same thing this year, you'll have to miss a day or two of school, but it's worth it.

Oh, and every college pretty much has something similar, though not all tie it in with an overnight stay. Some schools have multiple opportunities to visit spread out over weeks.

Who is off the 3rd week of April? o.O I've never heard of a break that late...

Brandeis has break the first week and a half of April so it should be shortly before or shortly after that I would think. If whatever date it is doesn't work for you, you can do your own overnight stay by contacting admissions.
