My average went down 5 points because of my physcis, non ap class. I have all my science credits and I do not need this class. It is extra work, i already have 9 periods, I do not want this class. Will my college of acceptance, NYU, be displeased at me for dropping this class-- it will bring my average up.

E-mail NYU, explain your plan and your reasoning, and make sure it's okay with them. If you're already taking nine classes, and you've got your bases covered in terms of science, they shouldn't have a problem with it.

Definitely ask them ...some schools are more strict than others, obviously.

I dropped 2 electives this semester (transferred to new high school for senior year, was behind on electives to graduate, long story) and enrolled in Running Start, where I am taking a college class in the evening for [ideally] dual credit. None of the schools had a problem with it, since I was still meeting admissions standards (ie. 4 credits of English) and it wasn't like I dropped an AP class or anything.
