My daughter was accepted for spring also. Her stats are as follows:

2000/2400 SAT
Out-of-state
3.45 unweighted (her HS does not weight for the many honors courses she completed)
Captain of field hockey and lacrosse team
3 AP courses

Was your daughter put on the waitlist for fall? My daughter really loves Maryland, but I do not know if she would be willing to wait until spring. Plus, the out-of-state tuition is pretty hefty.

Daughter's avg is 99.5w.
Thank you for all your responses. If anyone can give me advice on how to approach admissions on getting in for the fall, 2009...

Bluehen Mom - how does your daughter feel about spring, 2010? Is she still willing

robb123....yes, my daughter was put on the waitlist for the fall. She is still deciding between UMD and Pitt. She is not thrilled about the idea of waiting until spring, however she has not made a final decision yet.

robb123, did they give you the freshman connection option? That sounded like a great way to start if you don't mind getting an apartment. My daughter is in for spring waitlisted for fall, 1920 SAT, about 90 GPA

3.75W

yh what DiN009 said there are PLENTY of stats for those who got into 2009 fall look around :) but besides that i heard it was hard to appeal for fall unless you were wait listed (im not discouraging just telling what current students have said)
but good luck i hope it works!! d(^_^)b

I was admitted for the Fall. Will be visiting next month. Not sure if i can afford the OOS tuition so i am hoping for scholarships, although i know it is unlikely for merit-based.
