Has anyone been to an Accepted Students Reception yet? What kind of activities did you have? I have to leave early, so what will I be missing in the last hour?

I'm going tomorrow from 9am-1pm. I'm always wondering what will happen.

Me, too! I'm looking forward to it.

I was there today for the CAS Reception. The Dean of the College gave a talk, followed by a completely useless lecture from this pre-law (I think?) slash graduate research professor. She talked for way too long about actual law stuff that I'm pretty sure 99% of the audience didn't care about. Then students and parents split up into different panels (the students were with NYU students). Then we split up into campus tours. The campus tours were about 11:15, so you'd just miss that which you could do later (the tours were just the same as other days).

I went and it was extremely boring lol.

A reception in NYC? Nope. =/ There was on in Dallas, but I didn't get to go.

I went to the gsp reception sunday.
it was supposed to start 9ish, but it started at like 9:30.
The dean spoke, then two professors (Dr. Elayne Tobin and a nerdy looking male professor) spoke about the school. Then two students who are currently freshman shared their perspectives.

Then the whole room kind of mingled for a while, there were nyu student ambassadors walking around answering questions, pretty helpful. There were student tours, but I left b/c I've already taken a tour, so I went back home.
overall it was informative but I don't reccomend it if it's a long trip for you.
