Accepted students (this year or last year)

<p>Please post what kind of grades and everything you have, I'm not asking for an autobiography though. </p>

<p>I don't want all your "professional" opinions on my chances. I just want to know how I stack up against the people who have already gotten in. Also does anyone have a link to the site with the statistics of the class of 2009? Thanks.</p>

<p>Grades: top 3 percent in competitive private school
SAT: 1450
SAT II: 740/750/740</p>

<p>very solid ECs, captain tennis team, president of habitat for humanity, etc.</p>

<p>very good essays/recs</p>

<p>Well, as for grades, I got A's and B's...all honors or APs (except P.E. classes which are regular).</p>

<p>EC's...pretty well-rounded up until senior year</p>

<p>I had plenty of community service and I babysit 18-20 hours a week (all four years).</p>

<p>This year, ED, Medill:</p>

<p>3.9 GPA
Most difficult schedule possible... but my school only has 500 kids so our programs are limited
My biggest EC's were scoring a 2-year writing contract with a regional newspaper, student pilot, and student radio
I wrote my essays about working at a cannery in Alaska, driving on logging roads, reading the Bridges of Toko-Ri, and wanted the judges from Plessy v. Ferguson and Brown v. Board of Education to debate the constitutionality of segregation</p>

<p>this year, school of music (voice) + college of arts and sciences:</p>

<p>-barely top 10% of a 480 person class
-Full IB program

-tons of music ec's (both violin and voice)
-national honors society</p>

-Rank: unofficial, 4/75 at a private international school
-International student - Norwegian citizen of Indian ethnicity, spent last 2 years of high school in South Korea. Rest of the time in Norway.
-Toughest courseload, 4 APs: Calc AB, Stats, Lit - 4s, Physics B - 5
-Student representative on the international accreditation board for the school
-2 Varsity sports, some other minor stuff.
-Did not apply for financial aid</p>

<p>if there's 1 tip I wanna give, it's to start the essays early no matter how many times you hear this, it's absolutely true.</p>

<p>Thanks for the replies, but I got rejected from the engineering school.. It's okay though, I plan to go to the University of Rochester.</p>

<p>3.4 or so unweighted. 4.0 weighted. Ac Dec Captain, Band Front Ensemble (Pit), Mock Trial Webmaster, Top band 4 years, half Mexican/Asian, 96 in the class out of 451 (not even top 20%). 800 Reading, 710 Writing, 670 Math, 1470 Old, 2180 New, 770 US History, 750 English, 710 World History. I don't know why I got in either.</p>
