Quick question, I applied RD in October and (hopefully) looking at the official RIT admissions board on their website, I should find out soon.
I was looking through the board and it said that the application status should be on the my RIT portal page. Does anyone know specifically where? Also, do they EMAIL you as well?

According to entries in the other thread under RIT, Awesomenator applied in late October (as ED), and decision was posted in thread on Jan 14th.

You applied dec and heard already? I applied all the way in Oct & haven't heard at all yet. :( Are they only accepting students with a certain GPA+ early?

When you get your decision is definitely not based on your GPA, I applied in December and found out I was accepted on the 13th, but my GPA is pretty low.

This is their busiest time of year, so since you applied regular decision instead of early decision, they probably just put off reviewing yours until all the early decision stuff is sent out. Just because they have all your credentials doesn't mean an admissions officer has sat down to review you application in detail, just be patient, and when I visited the school I was under the impression that their admissions office was rather small compared to other schools I visited, despite being one of the bigger schools I applied too.

yeah i got accepted as well. i don't know how long the site said i was accepted (international business program), but i found out today. i applied RD in late december.

i got accepted today too, for the comp sci program.

however, if i wanted to choose my 2nd choice major instead of my 1st choice (since you choose 3 programs when you apply), could i do that when i pay the acceptance deposit? or do i need to wait until the school year starts to switch my major?

clannad, congratulations on being accepted!!

As some of the more popular majors (like game design) "fill up" I would call the admissions office and speak to them about your desire to switch to another major.
