I would at least think they have overnight stays for the one hundred and something honors students, but they don’t. Do they expect me to take a parent with me across the country? I’ve been to Boston three times. Travelled to Poland solo a few.

Can anybody suggest how to do an overnight stay? I will be going to the local reception, but it seems like staying the night would not be possible. Already emailed the honors advisor, but she said it would not be possible. Come on BC… Do I really have to pick Berkeley over you?

Dear YouKnowWho13 : Is your question asking whether Boston College offers free dorm housing for an accepted students preview day specifically for the Honor Programs? The answer to the very best of my knowledge is “no” however there are numerous local hotels within a “T”-ride which would allow you to visit campus conveniently. The only point at which the dorms would be opened for you would be during the Orientations that take place starting in June for those students that made their deposits.

The Orientation experience at Boston College is quite different than many other schools. The three-day, two-night program covers different programs for students and parents - while parents are not required to attend, they are highly encouraged to be part of the celebrations if at all possible.

In closing, Honors Students do not receive “special status” aside from the curriculum followed and the degree designation. If the cost of travel/hotel for one trip is concerning you, a West Coast option will likely be a better choice from a cost containment perspective.

I got into BC and there are plenty of alumni from my school who are currently attending BC. Would it be possible to stay with one of those friends I have for an overnight or is that not allowed?

If you don’t think that they are providing the proper treatment for their prospective honors students, that you seem to feel that you are entitled to, then maybe Berkeley is your better option.

@9497sam - You can definitely stay with friends. It’s just that there isn’t any specially designated for overnight stays for admitted students except for the AHANA weekend I believe

Shots fired!! Hahaha but yeah @YouKnowWho17 you sound pretty snobby right now. There are a good amount of kids who wished they could even have the opportunity to travel from Cali to Boston to visit BC. If you are gonna base your decision on this…kinda weird. But it’s your life. Good luck with the choice

^ Agreed. Check yo privilege. If this is your attitude, maybe BC isn’t the right school for you. There’s tons of people who can’t afford to even travel to Boston to check it out.

I agree with the other commenters. If you can dismiss one of your “top choices” so easily, simply because you feel entitled to free accommodations for an over-night visit, you probably were not that serious about the school to begin with.
